Physico-Chemical Assessment of River Benue to Determine Pollution Levels Using Chemometric Models.
Abstract: The effects of pollution on water have been reviewed. This study is aimed at determining the level of pollution of the River Benue, with the view of assessing its use as potable water. Different analytical techniques including titrimetry, gravimetry, potentiometry, and spectrophotometry were used for the study. The total hardness gave (22.28 mg/L and 41.87 mg/L) for dry and rainy season respectively. Electrical conductivity gave (91.35 mg/L and 54.10 mg/L) …

Designing Engaging Interactive Animatronics: Strategies and Implementation Insights
Abstract: The field of animatronics uses robotic systems to imitate realistic movements and activities in mechanical figures. To enhance the recognition and performance of the animatronic as a relationship mediator, it is important that the animatronics in recreational games be perceived as human companions to create productive interaction scenarios. This study describes the design and implementation of a Java- based programming method, an Adriano microcontroller, an open environment, a depth camera …

A Study of ROI Based Sign Language to Text Translation in Real Time Using Deep Learning
Abstract: Since sign language is their primary form of communication, it plays a significant role in the lives of hearing and speech disabled people. However, since not everyone is conversant in sign language, it is challenging for the disabled to interact with others daily. Sign language is made up of a variety of hand gestures that may stand in for a wide range of words and sentiments. The purpose of this …

Sliding Mode Control of SolidWorks Designed Robotic Manipulator Co-simulated in MATLAB
Abstract: This study proposes a Sliding mode control (SMC) algorithm for controlling three degrees of freedom (3DOF) robotic arm. This concept was inspired by seeing the increasing of potential applications of robotic arm in automation industry, mainly in the applications like pick and place. The 3DOF robotic arm is designed in SolidWorks and then it is imported to MATLAB for simulation purposes. Initially, simulations are done by using the conventional PID …
