Role of Endogenous and Exogenous Glutathione in the Detoxification of Free Radicals
Abstract: The aging process and disease progression are the result of cellular damage by free radicals. Our first lines of defense against free radical damage are the antioxidants. They are critical for keeping optimal health and wellbeing. The need for antioxidants becomes more critical with increased exposure to free radicals. Pollution, drugs, cigarette smoke, illness, stress, and even exercise can increase free radical exposure. The accumulation of free radicals produced from …

Concept of Free Radical Theory in Ayurveda
Abstract: A free radical can be defined as any molecular species capable of independent existence that contains an unpaired electron in an atomic orbital. Free radical is produced as an intermediate product during metabolism of fat, carbohydrates and protein in body. Free radicals are known to attack the structure of cell membranes which then create metabolic waste products. Free radicals are capable of damaging biological entities (due to their unstable and …

Dissipative Particle Dynamics Simulation Study on the Evolution of Photoinitiated Free Radical Polymerization Crosslinked Networks
Abstract: Gradient polymer materials overcome the limitations of conventional homogeneous polymers by integrating multiple distinct functionalities within a single continuous structure. Although photoinitiated free-radical polymerization offers excellent spatial and temporal control, the underlying microscopic mechanisms governing network evolution under non-uniform light fields remain poorly understood. In this study, a mesoscale dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) model was successfully developed to couple free-radical polymerization kinetics—including initiation, propagation, crosslinking, and termination—with exponential light attenuation …

A Study of Hyperfine Interactions of Peroxy Radicals in Irradiated PE Copolymer at Low Temperatures
Abstract: Hyperfine interactions occurring around the magnetic environment of peroxy radical are investigated by electron spin resonance (ESR) technique. For this purpose, ESR spectra are recorded in the temperature range of 77 to 300 K. ESR spectra at 77 K possess some hyperfine structure together with peroxy doublet; while at high temperatures only peroxy doublet is observed. Hyperfine parameters like g-values, peak to peak separation, spread are calculated and their temperature …

Impact of Free Radicals and Antioxidants on Human Health
Abstract: Free radicals are atoms or groups of atoms with an odd (unpaired) number of electrons and can be formed when oxygen interacts with certain molecules. Once formed these highly reactive radicals can start a chain reaction heir chief danger comes from the damage they can do when they react with important cellular components such as DNA, or the cell membrane. Cells may function poorly or die if this occurs. To …

Community Resilience Against Terrorism: Strengthening Social Cohesion to Prevent Radicalization
Abstract: This article explores the critical role of social cohesion and community resilience in preventing radicalization and violent extremism. While traditional counterterrorism strategies have primarily relied on military operations, intelligence gathering, and law enforcement interventions, growing evidence suggests that community-based approaches offer more sustainable and long-term solutions. Drawing on global examples, particularly from Denmark and Indonesia, the study highlights how early intervention, cross-sector collaboration, and the active participation of civil society …
