Abstract

Cervical radiculopathy involving the cervical nerve root dysfunction that is commonly characterized by pain radiating from the neck into the distribution of affected nerve root. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of motor control exercise and postural control regime with neural flossing in patient with cervical radiculopathy. 30 participants equally divided into two groups; Group A and Group B with cervical radiculopathy. Group A received motor control exercises (MCE)s with neural flossing (NF) and Group B received postural control regime with neural flossing for 3 weeks. Primary outcomes included-Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS), Neck Disability Index (NDI), and Quick DASH questionnaire at the baseline and after the 3 weeks of treatment. Result shows that there was no significant difference observed in the intervention group regarding the means of NPRS (p= 0.066). But there were significant differences in groups regarding the mean of NDI (p= 0.040) and Quick DASH (p= 0.047). The study concluded that MCEs with NF and Postural Awareness Regime (PAR) with NF are equally effective in relieving pain, reducing disability, and improving functional abilities in patients with cervical radiculopathy. But the participants of Group A have better clinical outcomes when comparing the NDI and Quick DASH questionnaires of both groups.
