Integration of Biomarkers in III and IV CKD Patients for Evaluation of Their Predictive Value for CVD in CKD Patients
Abstract: Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is presently characterized by the presence of proteinuria and/or a diagnosis of renal impairment. The worldwide significance of CKD is underscored by the fact that its prevalence and incidence have doubled over the past three decades. This paper provides an overview of the existing evidence regarding biomarkers in individuals with CVD or CKD, with a particular focus on the emerging biomarkers (i.e., eGFR, sALB, UACR, …

An Approach towards in Management of Chronic Kidney Disease
Abstract: The current international guidelines define and classify the chronic kidney disease (CKD) as decreased kidney function shown by decreased glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Glomerular filtration rate of 60 ml/min/1.73 m 2 for at least 3 months is a marker for kidney damage. The underlying causes for chronic kidney disease are proteinuria and hypertension. It is the main cause of CKD in many high-, middle- and low-income countries. In different countries, …

Chronic Kidney Disease: A Comprehensive Review
Abstract: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive condition characterized by a long-term decline in kidney function, leading to a gradual deterioration of the kidneys' ability to filter waste and maintain fluid balance. It is diagnosed when the Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) falls below 60 ml/min/1.73 m² or when there is evidence of kidney damage (such as proteinuria) lasting for 3 months or more. The most common causes of CKD are …

Comparative Study on Stabilization of Expansive Soil using Cement Kiln Dust and Ceramic Dust
Abstract: In India, expansive soils cover about 20% of total land area, these soils increase in volume (swell) during winter season and decrease in volume (shrink) during summer season. Due to this contradiction behaviour many civil engineering structures constructed on expansive soils get damaged severely, out of which pavement is the most because they are lightweight and extend over large areas. Stabilization of Expansive soil is of most importance, since to …

A Comparative Study of Lipid Profile in Pre-Dialysis and Post-Dialysis End-Stage Renal Disease Patients
Abstract: Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) represents a major public health concern in India, with its prevalence increasing at an alarming rate. Individuals with CKD are at a substantially higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD), which remains the leading cause of mortality in this population. Dyslipidemia is particularly pronounced among patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD); however, limited data are available regarding the impact of hemodialysis on lipid profile alterations. …

Study on Vitamin D Deficiency and Hypocalcemia in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients in a Tertiary Care Hospital: A Single-Centered Study
Abstract: Background: Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) suffers from multiple comorbidities such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, coronary artery disease and pyelonephritis. The most commonly accompanied complications are Vitamin D deficiency (VDD) and hypocalcemia that require multiple medications. This study evaluated the number of patients suffering from VDD and hypocalcemia and also analysed the utilization pattern of Calcium and Vitamin D supplements in CKD patients. Objectives: To evaluate the number of …

A Study on the Incidence and Prevalence of Cardiovascular Morbidity and Mortality in Patients Undergoing Maintenance Hemodialysis
Abstract: Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is a major complication for patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) on Hemodialysis (HD), with the mortality rate from CVD being nearly 20 times higher than in the general population. As Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) advances, patients accumulate both traditional and kidney-specific cardiovascular risk factors, such as hypertension, diabetes, fluid overload, electrolyte imbalances, and uremic toxins. These factors contribute significantly to the increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality …

Performance Evaluation of Modified Cold Mix Asphalt by Some Waste Materials
Abstract: The aim of study is to evaluate modified CMA volumetric, mechanical and durability properties by some waste materials. Previous studies described that the mechanical properties of CMA are shown to be influenced by different factors including base bitumen grade, porosity of the mix, curing time and additives. The current research is designed to use the waste and by-product materials as filler to enhance the conventional CMA early age strength. Hence, …

Drug Utilisation and Cost Analysis in End-Stage Renal Disease Patients: A Prospective Observational Study
Abstract: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a condition in which the kidneys are damaged and unable to efficiently remove waste and excess fluid from the blood. Dialysis serves as a treatment for CKD by artificially carrying out the kidney’s filtering functions. This prospective observational cross-sectional study was conducted to evaluate drug utilization patterns, economic burden, and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) undergoing dialysis. SGLT2 Inhibitors in Heart Failure and Chronic Kidney Disease: Expanding Therapeutic Horizons beyond Glycemic Control
Abstract: Heart failure (HF) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) are closely related clinical diseases that significantly increase morbidity and death worldwide. The co-occurrence of both conditions is frequently referred to as the "cardio-renal syndrome," in which the failure of one organ hastens the decline of the other. The original purpose of sodium–glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors was to treat type 2 diabetic mellitus (T2DM) by reducing blood sugar levels. Nevertheless, new data …
