A Comprehensive Review on FinFet Technology : Advantages, Challenges and Applications
Abstract: New devices and enhanced layers have been developed, specially the FinFET (Fin Field-Effect Transistor) which is considerably superior to the planar transistor because of its ability to meet the new demands of systems for high-performance, low-power, and dimensions reduction. Some of the recent developments in FinFETs mentioned in this review include a reduction of leakage currents by 50% and an enhancement of the speed by 30%; thus, FinFETs remain fundamental …

Developing Food Packaging with Nanomaterials: In-Depth Examination based on Electromagnetic and Optical Radiations
Abstract: Problems with food degradation, infection, and environmental compatibility are driving constant innovation in the food packing sector. Nanomaterials (NM) are investigated as possible solutions to the problem to improve the effectiveness of food packaging by means of their exceptional optical and electromagnetic characteristics. Several factors, such as the need to analyze capacity, cost-effectiveness, and possible environmental implications, prohibit the use of NM in food packing. This review summarizes the optical …

Development of an Arduino-Based Water Quality Monitoring System Using Turbidity Sensor
Abstract: Clean drinking water is essential for human health since dirty water can lead to serious diseases such as diarrhoea, cholera and typhoid and long-term diseases such as kidney damage, cancer and child development problems. Though hard water is less dangerous, it causes dry skin and kidney stones and saline water causes high blood pressure. The Water Quality Monitoring System exists as a solution against existing water safety issues. The system …

A Factorial Investigation of Hyperparameter Tuning Strategies for Lasso- Based Genomic Prediction
Abstract: In an earlier comparative study of machine-learning methods for genomic prediction of wheat grain yield, we reported a counter-intuitive result: automated nested-cross-validation tuning of the Lasso regularization penalty reduced mean predictive ability relative to a fixed, arbitrarily chosen penalty (mean Pearson r falling from 0.408 to 0.349 across four environments), the opposite of the expected effect of hyperparameter tuning. We hypothesized two possible explanations at the time — high-variance penalty …

A Comprehensive Investigation of Bagging-Based Ensemble Methods for Improving Machine Learning Model Robustness
Abstract: Machine learning models such as Decision Trees, Logistic Regression, and K-Nearest Neighbors are widely used for classification tasks due to their simplicity and interpretability. However, these models often suffer from high variance, overfitting, and poor generalization when applied to real-world datasets, particularly those that are small, noisy, or imbalanced, as commonly encountered in healthcare, finance, and cybersecurity applications. To address these limitations, this research proposes a Bagging (Bootstrap Aggregating)-based ensemble …

Artificial Intelligence–Assisted Reduced-Order Modeling and Stability Control in Granular Couette Flow
Abstract: This study develops a reduced-order and stability-aware modeling framework for dense granular Couette flow by integrating continuum mechanics, bifurcation analysis, and data-driven stability estimation. Starting from coupled governing equations for momentum, granular temperature, and microstructural evolution, the system is nondimensionalized and reduced using a Galerkin projection consistent with shear-driven boundary conditions. This yields a low-dimensional nonlinear dynamical system that preserves the essential coupling between velocity, fluctuation energy, and structural relaxation. …

A Threshold-Weighted Mathematical Fusion Model for Epidemic Outbreak Prediction Using SEIR Residual Dynamics and Cloud-Based Machine Learning
Abstract: Accurate prediction of epidemic outbreaks is critical for effective public health management, resource planning, early warning generation, and timely intervention by municipal authorities. Traditional compartmental models such as Susceptible–Exposed–Infectious–Recovered (SEIR) offer valuable epidemiological insights and mathematical interpretability; however, they may not adequately capture the complex nonlinear relationships present in real-world urban health systems. Conversely, data-driven machine learning techniques can identify hidden patterns in large datasets but often lack epidemiological structure …

Abstract: Information Technology (IT) is vital and valuable to our society. An important type of IT system is Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. The most common misconception regarding the security of SCADA was that this network was electronically isolated from other networks and hence attackers could not access them. Over the years SCADA systems have become incorporated with other IT systems, which has made them becoming increasingly vulnerable to …
