In-Silico Repurposing of Antipsychotic Drugs Against Novel Protein Targets in Multidrug-Resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis
Abstract: Multidrug-resistant TB is a growing worldwide health concern, particularly in high-burden areas. Resistance to frontline drugs like isoniazid and rifampicin is caused by mutations in key Mycobacterium tuberculosis proteins. Given the difficulty of developing new antibiotics, medication repurposing offers a good alternative. The potential use of molecular docking to target resistance-associated TB proteins with FDA-approved antipsychotic drugs is investigated in this work. Three proteins were selected: InhA (PDB ID: 5W07), …

Drug Induced Immune Mediated Nephritis: Molecular Mechanism , Pathways and Clinical Implications
Abstract: Drug-induced immune-mediated nephritis (DI-IMN) has become a more widely known cause of acute kidney injury (AKI), with the potential for development to chronic kidney disease if not detected and treated promptly. T-cell hypersensitivity to pharmaceuticals, such as antibiotics, proton pump inhibitors, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and immunological drugs, are the major causes for it. Beyond clinical burden, DI-IMN reflectsintricate molecular interactions that sustain interstitial inflammation and tubular injury. These interactions include …

Guanidine as a Starting Material for Preparing a Scale Inhibitor
Abstract: Oilfield scale inhibition, which can obstruct fluid flow in pipelines, valves, and pumps during oil production and processing, is critical for preventing scale formation. Effective scale inhibitors (SIs) minimize downtime and enhance productivity by preventing the build-up of insoluble crystals in water systems. In oil processing, scale formation results from the precipitation of salts due to incompatible aqueous phases, leading to equipment blockage. Phosphonates are highly effective chelating agents for …

Plant-Derived Antimicrobials as Next-Generation Solutions to Multidrug Resistance
Abstract: The steady rise of multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens is reshaping how clinicians, researchers, and policymakers think about infection control. When bacteria acquire the ability to survive exposure to three or more antibiotic classes at once—whether through efflux pumps, enzyme-mediated drug destruction, target modifications, or reduced membrane permeability—treatment options narrow dramatically, hospital stays lengthen, and mortality climbs. Conventional pharmaceutical pipelines have struggled to keep pace with this biological arms race, pushing the …
