Correlating the Damage Behaviour of Polymer Composites with the Potential Energy of the Impactor
Abstract: Design of structures using composites requires comprehensive evaluation and characterization of mechanical properties in both undamaged and damaged state. Composite laminates undergo combinations of mechanical loading resulting into microdamage accumulation in the plies. The first mode of damage is usually intralaminar cracking with the crack plane transverse to the middle plane of the laminate, spanning the whole width of the laminate. The density of cracks in a ply depends on …

Stress Analysis and Deflection of Longitudinal Beam and Validate by using ANSYS
Abstract: This study investigates the deflection and stress distribution in a long, slender longitudinal beam of uniform rectangular cross section made of linear elastic material properties that are homogeneous and isotropic. The deflection of a longitudinal beam is essentially a three dimensional problem. An elastic stretching in one direction is accompanied by a compression in perpendicular directions. The beam is modeled under the action of three different loading conditions: vertical concentrated …

Electroactive Graphene–Polymer Nanocomposites for Self-Sustaining and Multifunctional Flexible Devices
Abstract: Graphene–reinforced polymer–composites were developed and systematically investigated to explore their multifunctionality in flexible electronic applications. The study specifically aims to correlate graphene-induced structure–property–function relationships with electroactive performance and self-sustaining behaviour in flexible devices. The hybridization of electroactive polymers—polyaniline (PANI), poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): polystyrene sulphonate (PEDOT:PSS), and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)—with graphene nanoplatelets enabled simultaneous enhancement of electroactivity, energy-harvesting, and sensing functionalities. Morphological studies confirmed uniform graphene dispersion at 5 wt.% loading, forming continuous …
