Assessing Air Quality, Climate Change, and Migration Dynamics in Delhi NCR: A System Dynamics Approach
Abstract: As climate change accelerates and environmental degradation worsens, urban centers like Delhi NCR are under increasing pressure from internal migration. Poor air quality—especially in rural and peri-urban regions—emerges both as a driver of out-migration and a deterrent for in-migration to already burdened cities. This study develops a system dynamics (SD) model that integrates climate variables, air pollution metrics, economic indicators, governance quality, and migration behavior to simulate population flows into …

Mud Acid Effect on Fines Migration Problem Using a Newly Developed Al/Zr-Based Clay Stabilizer (A): Mitigation Can Happen
Abstract: Sandstone reservoirs exhibit severe fines migration problems subsequent to conventional mud acid (HCl: HF) treatments. The acid treatment proved to be effective for a relatively short period of time, with a sudden production decline owing to either that mud acid spent rapidly in close proximity to the wellbore, causing clays to migrate into the acidized area and re-plug the formation; or that the mud acid system actually weakens the structure …

Tamil Migration to Colonial Malay and Burma from 1880-1920: Analysing the Acculturation Process through the Lens of Fashion
Abstract: This paper seeks to understand the cultural repercussions of colonial labour migration, which emerged as one of the key characteristics of the 19th century as European nations set up colonies in parts of Africa, Latin America, and South and Southeast Asia. The ‘coolie’ market consisted of indentured labourers and slaves and allowed the colonial rulers to supplement labour in new colonies. As the labourers migrated to new lands, they carried …

Fluid and Ion Transport in Cement-Based Materials: A Systematic Review
Abstract: The development of fluid and ions in some concrete is occurred according to four basic mechanisms: capillary suction is due to capillary action inside of cement paste, permeation due to on pressure gradients, Diffusion is happened due to concentration gradients, and migration is due to electrical potential gradients. In this paper the transportation processes in concrete are described. Every process has a brief introduction to the physical mechanism by providing …

Hyphomicrobium Transport in Heterogeneous Coarse Formation Influenced by Porosity
Abstract: Hyphomicrobium transports were monitored at different litho structure in deltaic depositions. The study is to determine their rates of migration in heterogeneous predominant porous medium in the study area. The deposition of Hyphomicrobium migration experienced lag phase in some region of the formation. Fluctuation was also observed base on the reflection of heterogeneous porosity. The migration in shallow depth may also be affected by high acidic [PH] in the soil …

Environmental Pollutants and Biodiversity Loss: Analyzing the Role of Persistent Organic Pollutants in Ecosystem Decline
Abstract: Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) significantly impact biodiversity, with various factors influencing their effects on species and ecosystems. Species in poor body condition, like carnivores and predators, are more vulnerable to POPs due to weakened immune systems and reduced detoxification abilities. Dietary habits also affect the accumulation of POPs, as chemicals biomagnify up the food chain. Carnivores accumulate higher concentrations, leading to reproductive failures, hormonal imbalances, and death, while herbivores face …

Multiphysics Optimization of Polymer–Metal Hybrid Electrode Geometry in Electrostatic Precipitators for Enhanced Particle Collection Efficiency
Abstract: Electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) remain one of the most effective technologies for controlling fine particulate emissions in industrial exhaust systems. However, their performance is strongly influenced by electrode geometry and material characteristics, which govern electric field distribution, corona stability, and particle migration behaviour. In this study, a comprehensive numerical investigation is carried out to optimize electrode geometry using a multiphysics modelling framework, while introducing a novel polymer–metal hybrid design to enhance …

Role of Clay Liners in Municipal Solid Waste Landfills: A Review
Abstract: Rapid population growth has significantly increased the generation of municipal solid waste (MSW) in urban and suburban regions. Disposal of MSW in landfills without proper liner systems may lead to leachate migration and subsequent contamination of groundwater and surrounding soils. The use of liner systems at the base of landfills is therefore essential to minimize leachate percolation and protect the environment. Geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs) and compacted clay liners (CCLs) …
