Water Chestnut Stem-Derived Biochar Supported AgNPs/AC-CTS-PVA Composite Gel for Wastewater Treatment and Potent Antibacterial Performance
Abstract: In the present study, green and efficient Ag-NPs functionalized activated carbon/chitosan-polyvinyl alcohol (AgNPs/AC-CTS-PVA) composite gel was successfully synthesized using water chestnut stem-derived biochar for wastewater treatment and antibacterial applications. The composite was characterized by FTIR, XRD, SEM-EDX, and TGA analyses, confirming the successful incorporation of crystalline Ag nanoparticles within the polymeric matrix and improved thermal stability. The material was tested regarding the removal of the dye of methylene blue (MB) …

Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles of Cissus Quandrangularis and It’s Virtual Screening Against Gastric Cancer
Abstract: Gastric cancer, also known as stomach cancer, is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally and remains a major health challenge due to its poor prognosis and high mortality, largely attributed to late-stage diagnosis. In this context, plant-based nanomaterials are gaining momentum for targeted therapeutic applications. Cissus quadrangularis, a medicinal plant native to India from the Vitaceae family, is traditionally used for its diverse healing properties. Its stem, in …

Synthesis, characterization, and antibacterial activity of silver nanoparticles with expired minocycline as reducing agent: proposed as a recycling technique
Abstract: In this research, expired minocycline, a broad-spectrum tetracycline antibiotic, was employed as both a reducing and stabilizing agent for the eco-friendly synthesis of silver nanoparticles. This sustainable method avoids the use of toxic chemical reducing agents, providing a greener alternative for nanoparticle production. The synthesized silver nanoparticles were analyzed using several characterization techniques, such as UV-Vis’s spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Edex analysis, to assess their structural, …

Electrospun Antibacterial Polymer Composite Scaffolds Incorporating Silver Nanoparticles for Enhanced Wound Healing
Abstract: The present study focuses on the synthesis and characterization of electrospun polycaprolactone (PCL)/chitosan nanofiber scaffolds incorporated with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) to enhance antibacterial activity and biological performance. Uniform nanofibers with controlled morphology were fabricated using electrospinning, and different AgNP concentrations were introduced to investigate their influence on fiber structure, antimicrobial response, and cellular interactions. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed that increasing AgNP content resulted in well-distributed fibers with reduced diameters, …

Biological Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Hibiscus Sabdariffa Leaf Extract and It’s Antibacterial Sensitivity Assay
Abstract: In this study, AgNO3 was effectively used to synthesize silver nanoparticles. Hibiscus sabdariffa leaf extract was used to promptly and easily synthesize silver nanoparticles. An UV-Visible spectrophotometer showed absorbance peak in range of 300-600 nm. The procedure was found to be easy to follow, quick, least step and safe for the environment. It is non-toxic, and a viable substitute for traditional physical or chemical procedures. At room temperature, silver ions …
