Effect of 2D-EBG Structure on Monopole Antenna Radiation and Analysis of Its Characteristics
Abstract: In this paper, we present a two dimensional electromagnetic (2D-EBG) square shaped mushroom structure placed between two monopole antennas. Two artificial properties of this 2D-EBG structure such as PMC and Band Reject Region are investigated here. The radiation characteristics of a monopole antenna over this, 2D-EBG structure is tested by considering two cases. In the first case monopole antenna is made to operate within band rejection region where as in …

Effect of Climate Change and Sea Level Rise Along the Coastline of Mumbai in 2050-using MIKE 21
Abstract: Sea-level rise being one of the most significant effects of climate change have grabbed the attention of the world. Although the exact forecast of rise of sea level remains uncertain, many projections for high emission scenarios from individual studies were found much greater than likely range of 1 m of the 21st century SLR given in AR5 of IPCC. Moreover, due to the additional load from melt ice the Sea …

Organophilicization of Bentonite by HDTMA+ and TMPA+ Cations for Sorption of 2,4-Dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) in Aqueous Solution
Abstract: Bentonite (Bt) was converted to organoclays by intercalation of cationic surfactants into its interlayer space. Two types of organoclays were synthesized from HDTMA and TMPA at 100% CEC, and the adsorbents were characterized by FTIR, XRD and SEM. The adsorption capacities of Bt and the organoclays for the removal of 2,4-dichlorophrnol (2,4-DCP) from aqueous solutions were tested under different conditions. Two adsorption isotherm models (Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms) were used …

Assessment of Magnitude and Associated Factors of Adverse Birth Outcomes among Deliveries at Suhul Hospital Shire Tigray, Ethiopia from September, 2015 to February, 2016
Abstract: An adverse birth outcome is common phenomena both in developed and underdeveloped countries. Among all these adverse birth outcomes prematurity, low birth weight and stillbirth are the most common cases. Each year, about 15 million babies in the world, more than one in 10 births, are born too prematurely. More than 7% of those babies die shortly after birth; countless others suffer from lifelong physical, neurological, or educational disabilities, often …

The thermodynamic studies of 6-(4-chlorophenyl)-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-2,4-dioxopyrimidine-5-carbonitrile in 60% DMSO in the temperature range 298 to 313 K
Abstract: Densities and viscosities of 6-(4-chlorophenyl)-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-2,4-dioxopyrimidine-5-carbonitrile have been measured at different concentration in 60% dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) in the temperature range 298 to 313 K. The John-Dole equation was used to determine the viscosity. Gibb’s free energy (∆G), entropy change (∆S) and enthalpy change (∆H) were evaluated from relative viscosity . The negative sign of ∆G and ∆H and positive sign of ∆S indicates the spontaneity of reaction …

Synergistic effect of AlN and 2D-BN Nanoplatelets on Phase Transition Kinetics and Thermal Transport of Eutectic Phase Change Materials
Abstract: High-power-density electronic appliances are in demand to meet the necessity from modern sustainable society. The heat generated with the continuous functioning need to be dissipated to keep electronics cool to retain efficiency and performance. To suppress heat accumulation, surplus heat needs to be controlled by adapting efficient cooling technologies. As an alternative, nanomaterials-enabled phase change materials (PCM)-based cooling is appropriate to curb temperature shoot. This work focuses on developing eutectic …

A summary continuation analysis evaluating the prevalence and predictors of diabetic retinopathy in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients.
Abstract: Context: Diabetic retinopathy (DR), the leading cause of acquired blindness in adults, affects approximately 93 million people globally. It is a serious complication of type 2 diabetes, resulting from prolonged damage to the blood vessels in the retina. Although largely preventable and treatable, DR continues to be the main cause of vision loss among working-age adults and significantly impacts quality of life. While most studies on DR in Nepal have …

Deciphering the Roles of Estrogen Receptors and 27-Hydroxycholesterol in BC Progression
Abstract: Breast cancer (BC) ranks among the top causes of cancer-related deaths in women worldwide. Many risk factors of BC are linked to estrogen. Experiments of Beatson in 1896 show the role of steroid hormones as major determinant in BC. Action of steroid hormones is mediated by their receptors including Estrogen receptors (ERs). ERs are part of a subfamily of ligand-regulated transcription factors. Their primary role is to translate hormone signals …
