Li-Fi Technology: A Review
Abstract: Light-Fidelity (Li-Fi) takes visible light communication (VLC) further by using light emitting diodes (LEDs) to realise fully networked wireless systems [1]. One German physist Harald Hass has come up with a solution for most likely gotten frustrated at the slow speeds you face when more than one device is tapped in to the network, he calls “data through illumination” by sending data through an LED light bulb that varies in …

Structural Responses of Offshore Jacket Platform Subject to Seismic Ground Acceleration and Wave Forces
Abstract: In this paper, the effect of seismic ground acceleration on offshore platforms in the Malaysian waters has been investigated. In the Malaysian region of South China Sea, the conventional practice applied to design of offshore structures is to assume that forces induced on the platforms due to waves, current and wind control the overall response of the structures. Seismic analysis is not conducted since Malaysia is not located in a …

Study on Dielectric Properties of Nanostructured Composite of ZnO-La0.45Pr0.25Sr0.3MnO3 Bulk Ceramic
Abstract: In this study, nanostructured bulk composites of ZnO-La0.45Pr0.25Sr0.3MnO3 (LPSMO) were studied. These nanostructured composites were prepared by chemical solution technique. Nano particles of ZnO and LPSMO were mixed in weight ratio of 9:1 to prepare nanocomposite ceramic. Compared with pristine ZNO, nanocomposite of ZnO-LPSMO showed enhanced dielectric constant. The spin polarization (in ferromagnetic region) based quantum tunneling effect is used to explain the experimental results. Enhanced dielectric properties in nanocomposite …

Effect of Sintering Temperature on Current-Voltage Characteristics of Nanostructured Manganites
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false EN-IN X-NONE GU MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 In the present communication, nanostructured Y0.95Ca0.05MnO3 manganites using low cost sol-gel method have been synthesized. Samples were sintered at different temperatures in order to change the particle size of the samples. The crystallite size is found to increase with sintering temperature due to crystal agglomeration effect. To understand the transport properties of the presently studied samples, current-voltage (I-V) characteristics have been …

New Generation Nanocrystalline Silicon Carbide for Implants and Prostheses
Abstract: Nanocrystalline silicon carbide (SiC) is an aspirant material for artificial heart valves primarily due to its low weight, high strength, acute hardness, wear resistance, inertness (SiC does not react with biological fluids), and deterioration resistance. Oxide ceramic materials such as alumina (Al2O3) and zirconia (ZrO2) are often used for medical applications like implants and prostheses because of their terrific biocompatibility and high wear resistance. Unfortunately, oxide ceramics cannot be used …

Heteroscedasticity in Survey Data and Model Selection based on Weighted Schwarz-Bayesian Information Criterion
Abstract: AbstractThis paper proposed Weighted Schwarz Bayesian Information criterion for the purpose of selecting a best model from various competing models, when heteroscedasticity is present in the survey data. The authors found that the information loss between the true model and fitted models are equally weighted, instead of giving unequal weights. The computation of weights purely depends on the differential entropy of each sample observation and traditional Schwarz Bayesian information criterion …
