Abstract

Light-Fidelity (Li-Fi) takes visible light communication (VLC) further by using light emitting diodes (LEDs) to realise fully networked wireless systems [1]. One German physist Harald Hass has come up with a solution for most likely gotten frustrated at the slow speeds you face when more than one device is tapped in to the network, he calls “data through illumination” by sending data through an LED light bulb that varies in intensity faster than the human eye can follow. Better bandwidth, efficiency, availability and security are provided by Li-Fi than Wi-Fi. Li-Fi has more competence in terms of bandwidth in visible region therefore it does not dig its point in other communications which uses radio frequency range, without captivating its frequency bands. Li-Fi has thousand times superior speed than Wi-Fi and provides sanctuary as the visible light is incapable to make a way into the walls, which recommend a new era of wireless communication. The theory of Li-Fi is data communication on fast flickering of light which is not detect by human eye but it is determined on photo detector, which converts the on-off state into binary digital data. Such technology is bringing not only greener but safer and low cost future of communication. Keywords: Li-Fi, visible light communication (VLC), Wi-Fi, LED, radio frequency Cite this Article Sidic Safnamol P, Sidic Safnamol P.
