Prediction of Depth-Induced Stress Distribution and Maintenance Cost Implications for Submerged Structural Components
Abstract: This study investigates the influence of water depth on stress distribution and structural integrity of submerged mechanical components . Structural models fabricated from mild steel, stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper alloy were examined under hydrostatic loading corresponding to water depths between 30 cm and 150 cm. Results indicate that normal and shear stresses increased proportionally with depth due to intensified hydrostatic pressure. Mild steel exhibited the highest stress concentrations, …

A Study to Evaluate the Impact of Health Education on Awareness of Long-term Complications of Hypertension Among Hypertensive Patients in A Selected Hospital, Bengaluru
Abstract: The rising burden of non-communicable diseases, particularly hypertension, poses significant public health challenges, especially in developing nations. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a health education program focused on lifestyle modifications to prevent hypertension-related complications among patients at selected hospitals in Bengaluru. Employing a quasi-experimental design, we recruited 60 hypertensive patients through purposive sampling. Initial knowledge was evaluated using a structured questionnaire, followed by an educational intervention provided …

Fracture Mechanics-based Assessment of Welded Joints in Structural Steel Components
Abstract: In many engineering applications, connection by welding are essential to the structural integrity of steel components. However, because of the intricate interplay between material qualities, welding techniques, and structural stress conditions, evaluating the dependability and safety of these welded connections continues to be a difficult challenge. A systematic framework that evaluates the behavior of cracks and faults in welded joints is provided by fracture mechanics, which also offers insights into …

Impacts of Green Facades in Modern Era
Abstract: Modern architecture was an architectural movement or style centred on cutting-edge construction technologies, particularly the use of reinforced concrete, glass, and steel. The foundational goal of 21st century architecture is to create better structures that are inherently sustainable by utilising better materials and technologies. Facades are the outermost covering of a building which have the maximum interaction with the environment. A wall that is completely or partially covered with vegetation …

Artificial Neural Network Based Prediction of Impact Loads and Thickness in CFRP and GFRP Composite Laminates
Abstract: Recent technological advancements, particularly the integration of neural networks, have facilitated a predictive approach to complex engineering problems, especially those involving composite materials with directional properties. The scarcity of literature on predicting impact damage using experimental and ultrasonic flaw detection data motivated this study. Experimental assessment of impact damage on carbon fiber/epoxy (CFRP) and glass fiber/epoxy (GFRP) composites was conducted using low-velocity drop weight impact testing. Damage assessment employed an …
