Therapeutic Prospects and Comparative Bioactive Evaluation of Fenugreek Seed Extracts
Abstract: A medicinal plant with substantial therapeutic potential, fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) is rich in bioactive phytoconstituents. The phytochemical makeup and antioxidant properties of aqueous and methanolic fenugreek seed extracts were compared in this study. Phenolics, flavonoids, terpenoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins were found in both extracts, with the methanolic fraction showing greater intensity, according to preliminary phytochemical screening. The methanolic extract has higher levels of phenolic, flavonoid, and terpenoid content, …

Nature’s Pharmacy: Plant-Based Antifungal Agents and Their Therapeutic Potential
Abstract: Antifungal resistance has increased dramatically over the last 10 years, causing serious problems for healthcare because of higher morbidity and death. The urgent need for new treatments is highlighted by the scarcity of effective antifungal medications, their toxicity, and the rise of resistant strains. Since many plants have bioactive secondary metabolites with strong antifungal qualities, including alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, phenolics, and saponins, ethnobotanical sources offer a viable path. Plants with …

Therapeutic Potential of Plant-Derived Phytochemicals in Targeting Receptor Pathways Related to Non-Enzymatic Glycation: A Meta-Analysis
Abstract: Background: Non-enzymatic glycation, where reducing sugars react with proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids, contributes to various pathological conditions, such as diabetic complications and cardiovascular diseases. This process is facilitated by the receptor for advanced glycation end-products (RAGE), which is pivotal in driving inflammation and causing tissue damage. Objective: This meta-analysis evaluates the effects of plant-derived phytochemicals on RAGE expression and associated signaling pathways, assessing their therapeutic potential in glycation-related diseases. …

Nutraceuticals as Adjunctive Treatment in Cancer Exploring Efficacy and Mechanism of Action
Abstract: Dietary habits are a critical factor in cancer prevention, with plant-based diets rich in vegetables and fruits associated with reduced cancer risk. Nutraceuticals—bioactive compounds derived from food and supplements—have gained attention for their potential in cancer prevention and therapy. Phytochemicals such as flavonoids, polyphenols, and alkaloids exhibit anti-cancer properties through mechanisms including antioxidant activity, anti-inflammatory effects, inhibition of tumor growth, and induction of apoptosis. Key nutraceuticals include alkaloids (e.g., caffeine, …

Flavonoids: An Answer to Chronic Diseases
Abstract: It has been shown that inflammation is closely associated with the onset or exacerbation of quite a few non-communicable human diseases. Several chronic diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular dysfunction and central nervous system damage are also developed following tissue injury produced by the high fragments of low-grade inflammation surrounding a compromised tissue or organ due to its acquired genomic changes. Current therapies for many of these diseases are associated …
