Treatment of Hepatotoxicity
Abstract: An instantaneous or prolonged response to a synthetic or natural substance is known as drug-induced liver injury, or drug-induced hepatotoxicity (DILI). There are two distinct pathways that lead to hepatotoxicity: the more unpredictable idiosyncratic mechanism and the dose-dependent intrinsic mechanism. Several pathways, some known and others speculated, may be involved in the emergence of drug-induced damage. Drug-induced liver impairment can have several causes, and elevated liver tests are one of …

In Silico Screening of Terminalia chebula Phytocompounds as Potential Inhibitors of NTCP and DDB1 in Hepatitis B Virus Infection
Abstract: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a major global health concern, and chronic carriers are at risk of developing cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and even death. Existing treatments can effectively inhibit viral replication, but they achieve little eradication of the virus because of covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA) retention. In this investigation, bioactive compounds of Terminalia chebula, a plant known for its hepatoprotective and antiviral properties in traditional medicine, were …

TOXICOLOGY: Present-Day Difficulties for Investigating Safety Science and Target Safety Evaluation of Major Human Hepatocytes
Abstract: Preclinical toxicology has developed into a more thorough understanding of toxicity pathways from its descriptive beginnings. Technological developments have made it possible to forecast safety occurrences, mitigate adverse effects, and create safety biomarkers. Because they are able to self-renew and specialize into different types of human body cells, stem cells are currently being employed for in vitro toxicological applications. However, as compared to primary human hepatocytes, stem cell-derived HLCs perform …
