Time History Analysis of Subway Tunnel Under Internal Blast Loading
Abstract: The primary objective of this study is to investigate the effect of surrounding ground media over the structural responses of tunnel lining under internal blast loading. For this purpose, time history analysis of tunnel is carried out using Explicit Dynamic Analysis in ABAQUS and blast load is modelled using CONWEP technique. The structural responses are recorded in terms of stress and strain of tunnel lining at the apex point of …

Seismic Analysis of Base Isolation for Protection of Rural Building of Different Shapes
Abstract: India is a developing country, more than 50% of Indian population lives in unreinforced masonry structures. Masonry structures are vulnerable to seismic loading and load acting in it’s out of plane, hence performs poorly and sometimes leads to sudden collapse. Collapse of structure not only damages public property but also costs the lives of people. Base isolation techniques for these types of structure can be proven to be beneficial, in …

Seismic-Resilient Structural Systems: Geotechnical Engineering
Abstract: Earthquakes represent one of the most destructive natural hazards, capable of causing severe structural damage, loss of life, and substantial economic disruption. Seismic waves propagating through the ground can induce excessive forces and deformations in buildings, often leading to partial or complete collapse. Statistical records indicate that thousands of earthquakes occur globally each year, including several major events that result in significant damage. Past earthquake disasters have repeatedly demonstrated that …
