Application of Natural and Synthetic Polymer-Based Disintegrants in the Design of Fast Dissolving Cefuroxime Axetil Tablet Composites
Abstract: The current paper examines how natural and synthetic polymer-based disintegrants can be used to design fast-soluble types of tablet composites. A model drug was chosen and tablets were prepared by the direct compression method using different polymeric excipients, such as guar gum, locust bean gum, sodium starch glycolate (SSG) and cross povidone. Eight formulations were prepared and tested on the basis of critical material and performance characteristics including thickness, hardness, …

Development and Optimization of Orally Disintegrating Tablets (ODTs) Containing Standardized Curcumin Extract for Enhanced Bioavailability and Patient Compliance
Abstract: This research centers on creating and perfecting orally disintegrating tablets with standardized curcumin extract to both increase its bioavailability and promote better patient adherence. Although curcumin has numerous therapeutic applications. It remains clinically ineffective due to its poor aqueous solubility and bioavailability constraints. The development of orally disintegrating tablets involved direct compression with various levels of superdisintegrants including sodium starch glycolate and cross povidone to address existing challenges. Research teams …

Orally Dispersible Tablet of Mesalazine: Formulation and Evaluation
Abstract: Oral disintegrating tablets (ODTs) become increasingly more and more popular, particularly among elderly and paediatric patients who have difficulties with swallowing. The 5-aminosalicylic acid compound oral mesalazine, frequently referred to as mesalamine, is used to treat mild to severe ulcerative colitis and has a high percentage of success in causing and establishing response. Mesalazine has a topical therapeutic action at the location of the suffering colonic mucosa. The medication’s disadvantage …

Zolmitriptan Mouth Dissolving Tablets: Development of Formulas and Invitro Evaluation
Abstract: Pharma Burst ODT super disintegrants were used in different concentrations to manufacture Zolmitriptan fast dissolving tablets by a direct compression method. With a 28° angle of repose, there is good flow. The densities for bulk and tapped materials are 0.410 (g/ml) and 0.500 (g/ml), respectively. The compressibility index and Hausner ratio have values of 19.05 and 1.24, correspondingly. According to IP standard, weight variation test results range from 121.4 mg …

Advancements in Solubility Enhancement Through Liquisolid Compact Technology: A Comprehensive Review
Abstract: The study examines Liquisolid Compact Technology as an innovative approach for improving the bioavailability and solubility of drugs that are poorly soluble in water. Liquisolid systems, comprising solid carriers and liquid drugs, offer advantages such as improved drug release and bioavailability, reduced manufacturing costs, and controlled drug delivery. The technique involves dissolving or suspending the drug in non-volatile solvents, adding carrier materials, super disintegrants, and coating materials, and then compressing …

Strategies for the Development and Optimization of Orally Disintegrating Tablets (ODTs) to Improve Bioavailability and Patient Compliance
Abstract: Background: Pharmaceutical scientists have developed Orally Disintegrating Tablets (ODTs) to advance patient drug acceptance and biological system availability through simplified medi-cation delivery especially for children and senior citizens and people who cannot swallow pills regularly. The oral disintegrating tablets dissolve in the mouth within thirty seconds or less (USP 701) while needing no additional liquid thus making them suitable for both emergency treatments. Objective: The research examines ODT development strategies …

Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of a Sustainable Bamboo Fiber Based Composite
Abstract: This research investigates the process of extracting and using both long and short bamboo fibers from the plentiful Dendrocalamus giganteus species. The fibers were extracted using a synergistic combination of mechanical and chemical methods, which proved to be the most efficient. The process included using an alkali solution and mechanical disintegration to generate superior long and short fibers. Subsequently, these fibers were used to manufacture composites by combining them with …

Polymeric Ion-Exchange Complexes of Carbomer for Taste Masking and Enhanced Drug Bioavailability: A Physicochemical and In Vivo Study
Abstract: Famotidine (FAM) was recognized as a crystalline powder that varies in color from white to pale yellow and possesses an extremely bitter flavor. This study aimed to conceal the unpleasant flavor of FAM through employing unconventional ion-exchange resins sourced from Carbomer polymer Evaluation (Carbopol 974P). We used FTIR, DSC, and XRD to look at the drug-resin combination in its hard form to learn more about its physical and chemical properties. …
