Effects of seed and nitrogen with phosphorus fertilizer rates on production of lowland rice (Oryza sativa L.) in Fogera plain, North Western Ethiopia.
Abstract: Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is the main cereal crop in the Fogera. However, crop yields are low due to lack of various agronomic management practices. Among these, lack of site-specific seed rate and fertilizer levels are the major limiting factors. Therefore, a field experiment was conducted at the Fogera National Rice Research and Training Center in 2019 to study the effects of seed and nitrogen with phosphorus fertilizer rates on …

Pre-extension Demonstration of Improved Teff Technologies at Shashogo District, Hadiya Zone, Southern Ethiopia
Abstract: Teff is a highly important crop in Ethiopia in terms of both production and consumption. Population growth, low incomes, and urbanization have all contributed to an increase in demand for teff, which is predicted to continue. However, the teff production system largely depends on traditional methods. As a result, the crop yield has not reached at the desired level. Therefore, the pre-extension demonstration of improved teff technologies was conducted at …

Design, Fabrication and Performance Study of a Small-scale Grain Seed Dryer
Abstract: Drying of seeds at the farmer level in Bangladesh is normally carried out by the traditional sun drying method, this method is practiced until today for grain because of the advantages of simplicity and low-cost, but it results in inferior quality of seed due to longer drying time. This work concerns the development of a small-scale grain seed dryer for farmers. The size of the dryer was 800 mm height …

In vitro Responses of Indigofera tinctoria Linn. (Neela Amari)
Abstract: Indigofera tinctoria is an important medicinal plant of South and South-East Asia. These plants showed a low germination rate and scanty rooting of seedlings in conventional propagation. The tender leaves showed callus formation in MS medium with single auxin [Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA); 2, 4 Dichloro phenoxy Acetic acid (2, 4-D)]. Lower concentration of auxin showed better result. The explants showed callusing frequency of 95%. Even though both the auxins …
