Abstract: Some new chalcones have been synthesized by condensation of 2-acetyl pyrrol, 3-acetyl pyridine and 3-acetyl indole with various aromatic aldehydes in 25% alcoholic alkali. The synthesized compounds were identified by spectral and physical methods. From the time of reactions and the yield of the products, we can state that there were some obvious differences in the reactivity between the heterocyclic compounds used. An Efficient Synthesis of Some Novel Benzo Coumarin Derivatives Under Solvent Conditions from 2-acetyl-benzo[f]chromen-3-one
Abstract: The synthesis of the target compounds began with the preparation of 2-[3-dimethylamino[acryloyl-3H-benzo[f]chromen-3-one. This intermediate was obtained through the reaction of 2-acetylbenzo[f]coumarin-3-one with N,N-dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal [DMFDMA[ under reflux conditions in xylene. The enaminone thus formed was subsequently reacted with 6-aminothiouracil in acetic acid, leading to the formation of 2-thioxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-one. This compound served as a pivotal intermediate for the synthesis of a series of pyridotriazolopyrimidinones. These derivatives were synthesized by reacting …

Electrooxidation Study of Acetic Acid at Low Temperature in Membrane Less Microfluidic Fuel Cell for Portable Power Application
Abstract: The global energy crisis due to dependence on fossil fuel and its limited reserves followed by environmental pollution are the key concerns to the research communities. However, recently developed micro-fluidic fuel cells using hydrogen-rich fuels are most likely to replace the batteries, due to their compactness, high efficiency and simplicity in operation. In this context, the PtxSn/C (where, x=1, 3, 5) electrode-catalysts were prepared and the electro-oxidation of acetic acid …

PHD-2 Activation to Stabilize HIF-1α and FASN in Mammary Gland Cancer
Abstract: Activation of prolyl hydroxylase-2 (PHD2) has emerged as an attractive target to counteract tumor hypoxia and thereby uncontrolled cellular proliferation. We utilized an integrated strategy to identify new PHD2 activators using series of in silico tools and in vitro methods. The in silico screening helped to identify 4-ethyl-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2,2-dimethyl-2H-chromen-7-yl acetate (BBAP-3), [4-(7-acetyloxy-4-ethyl-2,2-dimethylchromen-3-yl)phenyl]acetate (BBAP-4), 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2,2,4-trimethyl-2H-chromen-7-yl acetate (BBAP-5) as an activator, who are structurally similar to KRH102140 (a known activator of PHD2). All …
