Comprehensive Experimental Analysis of the Mechanical Properties and Enhancements of Natural Fiber Composites
Abstract: This research investigates the mechanical characteristics of bio-composites reinforced using jute and sisal fibers. Natural fibers have emerged as promising alternatives because of their low density, renewability, biodegradability and approving mechanical properties. The research involved fabricating bio-composite plates using the hand lay-up method with varying orientations of jute and sisal fibers. The mechanical parameters, including tensile strength, impact strength, and flexural strength, were rigorously assessed and compared across various fiber …

Bio-efficacy Study of Lambda-cyhalothrin EW Formulation against Cnaphalocrocis medinalis on Rice: A Safer and Effective Approach
Abstract: AbstractA field trial was conducted to evaluate Lambda-cyhalothrin new formulation emulsion-in-water (EW), which indicated that Lambda-cyhalothrin applied at 15 g a.i. ha−1 was more effective against rice leaf folder (Cnaphalocrocis medinalis) as compared to the standard checks. In terms of cumulative reduction of pest incidence, Lambda-cyhalothrin treatments were found to be superior to the standard checks. Lambda-cyhalothrin 11.4% EW was identified as a superior formulation with respect to environmental hazards. …

Agronomic Performance, Harvest Dynamics, and Oil Yield of Lemongrass Varieties in a Semi‐Arid Ecosystem: Effects of NPK Regime and Harvest Timing
Abstract: This study investigated the agronomic performance, biomass production, and essential oil yield of three lemongrass (Cymbopogon spp.) varieties (CKP-25, Krishna & Pragati) under varying NPK fertilization regimes and harvest timings in a semi-arid ecosystem. A split-plot factorial design with four nutrient levels (Control, 50%, 100%, and 150% of the recommended NPK dose) and two harvest stages (90 and 180 days after planting, DAP) was implemented. Results revealed that both NPK …

Utilize Iodine to Disinfect Water and use the Minimum Effective Dosage
Abstract: For persons who vacation, travel, or work in places wherein municipal water treatment is unreliable, iodine is an efficient, cost-effective, and effective method of water disinfection. When more iodine is consumed than is advised for dietary consumption each day, there is substantial debate on the safe limit iodine dose and how long it can be used. The primary thyroid condition associated with excessive iodine intake is hypothyroidism, which can occur …

Bioremediation of Crude Oil-Contaminated Loamy Soil Using Plantain (Musa Paradisiaca) Stem Waste as a Biostimulant
Abstract: Crude oil contamination of soil is a pressing environmental challenge in oil-producing regions, especially in the Niger Delta of Nigeria. It degrades soil fertility, disrupts microbial ecosystems, and poses long-term ecological and health risks. Traditional remediation methods are often cost- prohibitive and environmentally intrusive, prompting the search for sustainable alternatives. This study investigates the potential of plantain (Musa paradisiaca) stem waste – a readily available agricultural byproduct – as a …
