REBONDING FOREST FIBRE TO SUSTAINABLE DEPLOYMENT
Abstract: The significance of wood in artistic manipulations is unraveled to any other material used in engineering, commercial or in infrastructural uses. All this is at the cost of eco-sustainability, not directly because manufacturing remains ecofriendly, but indirectly; because forests are expended in realization of this raw material. The author pre-supposes that with the mere thought of cutting a tree, environmental degradation has already begun [1]. As a preventive measure, least …

Polysaccharide Mixed Thermoplastic Biodegradable Polymer: Synthesis and Performance Evaluation
Abstract: Polysaccharide-based decomposable plastics have attracted much attention due to their plenteous supply and low price. The difficulty in making environmental plastics is incompatible between hydrophilic/polar and hydrophobic/non-polar components. Two separate compatibilizers were included to increase the compatibility between the two ingredients. The objective of existing research is to create an ecological polymer composite using rice starch, which could be a step towards an alternative user-friendly polymer composite. A base material …

Tailoring the Compressive Behavior of Tetrachiral Auxetic Structures Through FDM Process-Parameters
Abstract: This research evaluates how fused deposition modeling (FDM) fabrication process parameters affect the compressive behavior of tetrachiral auxetic structures created from Polylactic Acid (PLA). Auxetic materials have several useful properties, including reversible deformation and high-energy absorbing capabilities, which are beneficial to creating ultra-lightweight structural, protective, and shock-resistance designs. Among the available auxetic topologies, the tetrachiral configuration is particularly attractive for engineering use, because its rotation-dominated node–ligament deformation gives a negative …
