Drilling [Opportunities and Threats] in Arctic
Abstract: AbstractTo drill or not to drill? The Arctic is changing and increasingly drawing the world’s interest. Perhaps the guarantee of this immense region was best compressed by the previous Secretary of State George Shultz, when he said that the opening of the Arctic is the best occasion in mankind's history since the happening to the ice age. As environmental change renders the Arctic progressively available, there has been a generous …

Use of Liquefiable Materials for Vibration Isolation
Abstract: Abstract Trench barrier isolation is very popular but less adopted technique for the isolation of buildings and important structures. Here the structures are to be protected against the energetic surface waves, which are confined up to 3–4.5 m depth below the surface. Several types of trenches with different in-fill materials have been tried with some degree of success. The difficulty comes from the nature of the waves, which are a …

GaN-based Sub-10 nm Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors
Abstract: Gallium nitride (GaN) based metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) are promising for digital logic applications. The performance has been evaluated with different gate lengths (7~10 nm). The gate voltage is varied to turn ON and turn OFF at 1 and 0 V, respectively. For a gate length of 10 nm, the ON-current (ION) and OFF-current (IOFF) are found to be 6.86 mA/μm and 5.15x10-7 A/μm, respectively with a applied drain …

Effects of High-κ on Device Performance of Nano-Regime GaN-based MOSFETs
Abstract: GaN-based metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) are very promising for future digital-logic-device applications. Different gate dielectric materials are employed to evaluate the figure-of-merit of GaN-based MOSFETs. The gate length (LG) is kept constant at 10 nm. The gate voltage varies from 0 V to 1 V for the device switching from turn OFF to turn ON-state. For the device with HfO2 as gate oxide, the ON-state current (ION) and OFF-state …

Experimental Demonstration on Fabrication Techniques and Recording of Leakage-free Surface-Driven Capillary Flow in the Dual Sudden Expansion Microchannels
Abstract: Dual sudden expansion polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microchannels have been fabricated by the maskless lithography, hot embossing lithography, direct bonding technique, and atmospheric pressure air dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma processing. The surface-driven capillary flow of dyed water is faster on the processed PMMA surface than the pristine PMMA surface. The surface-driven capillary flow of dyed water is slower in the wider portion of any dual sudden expansion microchannel. This experimental demonstration …

Drugs and Polymers Used for Colon Specific Drug Delivery System with Current Trends: A Systematic Review
Abstract: Due to greater flexibility in design of dosage form and high patient compatibility, oral route of administration is the most preferred route but the gastrointestinal tract has many types of other undefeatable barriers to drug delivery. In oral colon-specific drug delivery system, colon has a large amount of lymphoma tissue which facilitates direct absorption into the blood, negligible brush border membrane activity, and much less pancreatic enzymatic activity as compared …

Disseminated Tuberculosis in an Infant: A Case Report
Abstract: Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Even though tuberculosis among pregnant woman is not uncommon, documented cases of congenital tuberculosis are rare. It is because placenta forms a protective barrier against the invasion of foetus by the organism. Although rare, congenital tuberculosis should be distinguished from more frequent acquired neonatal tuberculosis. Diagnosis of neonatal tuberculosis is difficult as sputum is generally not available for examination. Gastric aspirate …
