Design of High-Speed and Low-Power Carry Skip Adder
Abstract: In this brief, we present a high speed and lower power consumption carry skip adder (CSKA) architecture compared with the conventional one. The increment of speed is attained by implementing concatenation and incrementation strategy to improve the efficiency of the conventional CSKA (Conv-CSKA) architecture. Instead of make use of multiplexer logic, the proposed architecture makes use of AND-OR-Invert (AOI) and OR-AND-Invert (OAI) combination gates for the carry skip logic. The …

Designing of Low Power Charge Pump Circuit with Minimum Current Mismatch for High Speed PLL Applications
Abstract: Charge pump (CP) is one of the necessary block of phase locked circuit (PLL). This paper presents the new design of CP circuit, i.e., cascode current source biased transmission gate based CP circuit. Cascode current mirror, transmission gate switches and unity gain follower amplifier are combined to design the CP circuit in 65 nm technology. The reference current is used to bias the switches of CP circuit so that current …

Novelty of Cascaded Inverter Based Two Stage Power Conditioning Systems for Constant Wind Power Applications
Abstract: Wind energy has proved to be the most promising renewable energy source because of its environmental friendly nature. Wind energy can be generated by harnessing the kinetic energy of atmospheric air. The present concern towards wind turbines is to increase the size of turbine in order to harvest more energy and also to reduce cost of per megawatt capacity. This paper proposes a 2-stage power conversion technique. The first stage …

Exploring the Potential of Adiabatic Logic for Low Power Nano-scale VLSI Designs
Abstract: Low power dissipation has emerged as one of the main research areas due to the ongoing scaling down of device technology in the area of VLSI circuit design. Adiabatic logic gates are a practical answer to the rising demand for low power portable gadgets. Various adiabatic logic families, including 2N-2N2P, PFAL (Positive Feedback Adiabatic Logic), DCPAL (Differential Cascode and Pre-resolved Adiabatic Logic), and a suggested circuit centred on the PFAL …

Design and Simulation of Low-power, High-speed Effective Area Mux Based One-bit Full Adder Using CMOS Technology
Abstract: Our findings reveal a novel kind of circuit capable of performing both XOR and XNOR operations in parallel. Power dissipation and delay are both greatly reduced in the proposed circuits due to their low output capacitance as well as minimal short-circuit power dissipation. We show six new hybrid 1-bit full-adder (FA) circuits that take use of the XOR-XNOR or XOR/XNOR gates' special full-swing function. Each potential circuit layout has both …

Influence of Dielectric and Active layer Thickness on MgZnO Thin Film Transistor Electrical Characteristics
Abstract: From last decades, Thin Film Transistors Technology uses low-k dielectric material as an insulator. Insulator thickness plays an important role in device dimension. The insulating layer also known as the gate oxide separates the gate electrode from the channel region of the transistor. If the insulating layer is too thin, there is a greater chance that electrons can tunnel through the oxide layer, leading to leakage current. To mitigate this …

THD Minimization of 27 Level Inverter using FPGA Control Strategy
Abstract: Normally single phase inverter gives only +230 V or –230 V. But multilevel inverter gives the variable output voltage in various levels and also the harmonics are reduced. If harmonics are produced, it affects the output of the load. Most of the industrial applications rely on Induction motors because of the reliable operation, low cost and simple construction. So the Multilevel inverter output is connected to the Induction motor. Here …
