Ameliorating Effect of Vitamin C on Acid Orange 7 Induced Oxidative Stress in the Gill of the Fish, Anabas testudineus (Bloch, 1792)
Abstract: Acid orange 7, an azo dye, was exposed to Anabas testudineus at a sublethal concentration (0.27 g/l) for 24, 72 and 96 h in order to evaluate the antioxidant status in the gill tissue. In addition, vitamin C at 0.55 g/l was exposed for 7 days after the dye exposure. Acid orange 7 decreased the body weight of fish, whereas mucous deposition increased significantly as the first line of defensive …

Treatment of Synthetic Dye and Real Industrial Effluent Using Different Photo-catalysts
Abstract: Organic dyes are now one of the most common types of toxins released into the atmosphere, particularly from the textile sector. Organic dyes poisonous in nature and harmful to living organismsand ecosystems and Humans hence, therapy of these dangerous dyes before release into the environment is critical. Several ways have been used to solve this challenge, including physical, chemical, and biological methods. Photocatalysis is currently most of the advanced oxidationprocesses, …

Steam Activated Carbon Material from the Fruit Shells of Sterculia foetida for Energy and Environmental Applications
Abstract: Steam activation of the biochar from Sterculia foetida forms a green route for the synthesis of activated carbon material with high specific surface area (1017 m2/g). The corresponding value with a chemical activating agent (K2CO3) is much lower (596 m2/g). Structural parameters of the activated carbon materials were deduced from XRD studies. Moreover the thermal stability of the activated carbon materials from steam activation is nearly 100°C higher than that …

Survey in Hydrazine and its Preparation, Reactions, and Their Applications
Abstract: This review concerned with hydrazine derivatives; Hydrazine is an important chemical compound used in jet engine and rocket fuel. Therefore, the European Union prohibits its sales to the developing world at 100% concentration and only permits its sales at 20-25% concentration. It is also used in industry to produce chemicals for textiles, agriculture, photographic development materials, and blowing agents used in the manufacture of foam rubber. It is also used …

Utilization of Treated Textile Dyeing Wastewater and GGBFS–Perlite Blends for Sustainable Cementitious Composite Development
Abstract: The increasing global demand for concrete critically intensifies the consumption of potable water, raising significant environmental concerns and depleting vital resources. Concurrently, the textile dyeing industry generates substantial volumes of wastewater, posing considerable disposal and pollution challenges. Our investigation explores a dual solution by utilizing treated textile dyeing wastewater as an alternative mixing water source, combined with ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) and perlite as supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), …

Tailoring The Electrochemical Interface of Graphene–Gd₂O₃ Nanocomposites for Advanced Energy Storage
Abstract: Graphene–Gd₂O₃ nanocomposites were synthesized by incorporating varying concentrations of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) into Gd₂O₃ using a straightforward room-temperature solution method. The composites were analyzed using various distinct characterization techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Electrochemical measurements, particularly cyclic voltammetry (CV), demonstrated that the incorporation of graphene significantly enhanced the electrochemical performance …

Screening and Isolation of Bacterial Isolates for Polyhydroxyalkanoates Production from Oil-Contaminated sites
Abstract: Synthetic polymers are generally manufactured from petroleum and chemical-based sources. These polymers are employed in day-to-day life basic needs which leads to the production of huge number of synthetic polymers that accumulate in nature for thousands of years. There are limitations associated with synthetic polymers apart from their non-biodegradability, non-compatibility their mechanical and physical properties that cannot be easily altered narrows their few applications. PHAs (polyhydroxyalkanoates) are biopolymers that can …

Use of Advanced (i.e., Membrane) Technology for the Wastewater Treatment of Coke Ovens
Abstract: Coke plants produce gas, and coke for metallurgical purposes and also supply the raw materials for the manufacture of dyes, drugs, and high explosives. Naturally found coal is converted into coke in coke ovens. A large quantity of water is used for quenching hot coke and for washing gas. After quenching the wastewater contains high-suspended solids, high biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) (600–1300 mg/L), chemical oxygen demand (COD) (1500–3000mg/L), phenols(500–650 mg/L), …
