A Rare Cause of Parkinsonism—Manganese Toxicity
Abstract: A 43-year-old male presented with six months history of gradual onset and progressive bradykinesia, tremors of upper limbs and walking difficulty in the form of imbalance and short shuffling gait. He also had slurring of speech with hypophonia. Neurological examination revealed slow broken saccades, rigidity with cogwheeling, bradykinesia and short shuffling, festinant gait. He had action and postural tremors of upper limbs. Pull test was positive. Thus, a diagnosis of …

Levels of Some Essential and Non-Essential Metals in Selected Cereals Marketed at Holeta City, Ethiopia
Abstract: Cereals are the most commonly and widely used sources of food in Ethiopia; hence determining the nutrient contents has a vital importance for the health of consumers. In the present study, the concentration of metals (Na, K, Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn, Ni, Cd, Co, Pb, and Ag) were determined in three cereal types (maize, sorghum and barely) using FAAS and flame photometry. The optimized wet digestion involving both, concentrated HNO3 …

Dawa Ul Misk Motadil Sada: A Review of a Standard Compound Unani Formulation for Khafaqān (Palpitation)
Abstract: Unani System of medicine is one in every of the ancient systems that overcomes untill date with its well-organized medicines derived from animal, plant and mineral resources. Over 2400 years past, the father of medicine Hippocrates practiced it; but His medication enclosed an excellent deal of ancient Egyptian medicine additionally as necessary elements of the traditional Mesopotamian traditions. In standard medicine, Palpitation is defined as an uncomfortable alertness of one’s …

Elaboration of Iltehab-e-Meda and their Remedies
Abstract: Gastritis (warm-e-meda) is one of the most typical issues amongst one-of-a-kind society. More than 50% of the population in growing countries suffers from gastritis, while 34.7% of the population in growing countries had health issues because of gastritis. Unani physicians have noted the disease with the aid of using one of a type name e.g. Hurqat-e-Meda, Sozish-e-Meda, Warm-e-Meda, and Iltehab-e-Meda. Main cause of gastritis are infections, stress, non-stop use of …

Integrated Approach of Unani Medicine in Geriatric Care
Abstract: Aging is a process of physical, psychological and social changes in multidimensional aspects. The percentage of elderly, in the world population is expected to increase rapidly from 9.5% in 1995 to 20.7% in 2050 and 30.5% in 2150. In India, the population of older people has risen from 4.9% in 1901 to 5.5% in 1951, 6.5% in 1991, 7.7% in 2001, and 8.3% in 2011 and will be 12% in …

Shelf Life of Unani Drugs: In Classical and Contemporary Era
Abstract: Nothing in this universe is immortal. Drugs also degrade with time. Thus significance and indispensability of stability testing is well recognized since ancient time. However, in the absence of sophisticated scientific technology ancient Unani physicians used to evaluate the shelf life of drugs by means of organoleptic characters. In this paper review of classical Unani literature of plants, minerals and animal origin and compound drugs has been discussed in detail …

Polypropylene Fibres in Cementitious Composites: A Critical Review of Polymer Structure, Processing, Interfacial Behaviour and Performance
Abstract: Polypropylene (PP) fibres are widely used as secondary reinforcement in cementitious composites, yet their performance is governed as much by polymer structure and interfacial chemistry as by dosage. This review synthesises 50 primary sources (2003-2025, concentrated post-2015) to examine how PP molecular structure, fibre-manufacturing history, morphology, surface properties and environmental ageing govern fibre-matrix interaction and multiscale composite performance. Isotacticity, molecular weight, crystallinity and drawing ratio are shown to set the …

Whey Valorization in the Dairy Industry: Emerging Technologies and Value-Added Applications
Abstract: Whey is a major by-product of the dairy industry generated during the manufacture of cheese, casein, and other dairy products. Despite being traditionally considered a waste stream, whey contains valuable nutrients, particularly high-quality proteins, lactose, minerals, vitamins, and bioactive compounds, making it an important resource for sustainable food production. Improper disposal of untreated whey can create significant environmental concerns because of its high organic load. Whey valorization, therefore, provides an …

Physical and Luminescence Studies of Natural Fluorescent Material (Stone)
Abstract: This study investigates the physical properties (volume and density) and optical behavior of a natural fluorescent stone under ultra-violet (UV) and green/red laser light. The stone exhibits fluorescence, emitting a blue-white glow when exposed to 365 nm UV light, suggesting the presence of minerals like fluorite (CaF2), scheelite (CaWO4), and calcite (CaCO3). Under 532 nm green laser excitation, the stone displays internal scattering and a green glow, further supporting the …

Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development in Jharkhand: Environmental and Socio-Economic Perspectives
Abstract: Jharkhand is derived from Indo-Aryan languages, comprising two words, “Jhar” meaning “Forest” and “khand” meaning “Land”, meaning FOREST LAND. Geographically, Jharkhand is India’s 15th-largest state, and population-wise, it is the 14th-largest. Despite Jharkhand accounting for India’s 40% mineral production, 39.1% of its population lives below the poverty line, and 19.6% of its children below the age of five are malnourished. It is plagued by a lot of environmental and socioeconomic …
