Elaboration of Iltehab-e-Meda and their Remedies

Abstract

Gastritis (warm-e-meda) is one of the most typical issues amongst one-of-a-kind society. More than 50% of the population in growing countries suffers from gastritis, while 34.7% of the population in growing countries had health issues because of gastritis. Unani physicians have noted the disease with the aid of using one of a type name e.g. Hurqat-e-Meda, Sozish-e-Meda, Warm-e-Meda, and Iltehab-e-Meda. Main cause of gastritis are infections, stress, non-stop use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines, alcohol and bile reflux. Gastritis remains untreated or undiagnosed in Quruh-i-Meda (gastric ulcers). In Unani system of medicine, there may be elaborated description of gastritis as a Waram-i-Meda with etiology, clinical features and its active management. Plants, animals and mineral origin drugs are getting used for the cure of warm-e-meda without any adverse effects in Unani system of medicine. The basic principles of Unani treatment of warm-e-meda is to reestablish the normalcy of the patient, modification of Mizaj, humoral stability in the organs and the body, and toning up of the stomach. In this review article, Warm-e-Meda (gastritis) is explained with its type, etiology, treatment in Unani perspective and prevention of complications associated with gastritis.
