Improving Plastic Bottle Waste Management System of India using RVMs
Abstract: India is ranked first as the most populous country in the world, and plastic waste management has been a major ongoing concern for India. With the growing economy and population, the growth of plastic waste generation has been exponential but plastic waste management has been underachieved. The excess utilization and mishandling of single-use plastic have depreciated the performance of the plastic waste management system of India. This study emphasizes on …

Recycling of Plastic Waste Using Mini Shredder
Abstract: In the current situation, plastic use is expanding daily, leading to a significant environmental problem. Plastics can negatively affect soil organisms in a variety of ways through complex interactions. For example, it has been found that microplastics seep into the soil and change its physical makeup, which lowers the soil's ability to hold water. Particularly in India, people generate 26,000 tons of plastic waste every day which is equivalent to …

Analysis of Physical Properties of Polyethylene Terephthalate Coated Aggregates used in Bituminous Concrete Mixes
Abstract: The main cause of climate change that the world has been facing for several years is burning of plastic waste in open air. To contribute to solution of this problem, an investigation was carried out with utilization of plastic waste in bituminous mixtures used in flexible pavement. With varied amounts of Polyethylene Terephthalate (0%, 6%, 6.5%, 7%, 7.5%, and 8%) of asphalt content, variousdesirable properties of aggregates required for bituminous mix …

From Space to Sea: Leveraging Satellite Technology for Monitoring Marine Debris
Abstract: Marine trash endangers ecosystems, so efficient detection is critical. This article describes a novel strategy for improving detection accuracy by integrating YOLOv7 instance segmentation with attention processes. Three models are evaluated: lightweight coordinate attention, the convolutional block attention module (CBAM) for spatial-channel focus, and the bottle neck transformer, which relies on self-attention. On an annotated satellite image dataset, CBAM has the greatest F1 scores in box recognition (77%) and mask …

Reusing Waste Plastics to Enhance Flexible Pavement Performance
Abstract: The disposal of plastic garbage Plastic products including cold drink bottles, carry bags, chocolate and chip wrappers, and all other types of plastic produce serious environmental and financial issues. These plastic types use a lot of energy and deplete the environment in a number of ways. Plastics are non-biodegradable, resulting in long-term environmental pollution and contributing to hazards such as microplastic contamination, marine debris, and threats to wildlife. Additionally, the …

Intelligent Waste Management through Automated Sorting for Enhanced Recycling and Sustainability
Abstract: Waste segregation promotes energy production from waste, landfill depletion, recycling, and waste reduction. Recycled materials become contaminated by waste that is disposed of inappropriately. Automated computerized trash sorting is one technique to help reduce contamination, a major problem for the recycling sector. The ability to come up with models or techniques that assist individuals in sorting waste has become crucial to properly disposing of it. Even with the wide variety …

An Experimental Investigation of Polyethylene Terephthalate Fibers in the Properties of Concrete
Abstract: In India near about every year 45 million tons of solid waste is generated. The solid waste rate is increasing of 1.5 to 2% every year. In that total solid waste, Plastics contains 12.3% waste generated in which most common are the water bottles. Now the present worldwide situation, the production of PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) exceeds 6.9 million tons per year. So that it is necessary to reusing of PET …

Neuromorphic Spiking Neural Networks and Event-Driven Hardware: Architectures, Learning Paradigms, and Experimental Realizations
Abstract: With the current computational boom the research community is seeking for more sustainable energy efficient i.e. biologically inspired models of conventional Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) known as the third generation of neural network models, provide a revolutionary approach by mimicking the asynchronized event-driven and temporally accurate signaling of the mammalian brain. Whereas conventional deep learning models operate with real-valued activations and dense matrix multiplications, SNNs use …

Investigation of Exergy and Energy with Fibre Reinforced Plastic Composite (FRP) Tube Based Solar Still using PCM material via Theoretical and Computational Approach
Abstract: A FRP (Fibre Reinforced Polymer) material-based solar still is an advanced design approach in solar desalination systems, where the traditional construction materials (like metal or concrete) are replaced or enhanced with FRP composites. A FRP composite material tubular solar still is a lightweight desalination equipment with a substantial condensing area in comparison to other types of solar stills. Nonetheless, their effectiveness is often limited by fluctuating climatic circumstances. This study …
