Impact of Marine Pollution Threats and Conservation of Marine Biodiversity
Abstract: Ocean occupies 71% of earth’s surface and is traditionally divided into four large basins including North and South Atlantic, North and South Pacific, Arctic and Indian oceans. In India we have a vast coastal area of 7516.6 km from Kolkata to Gujarat and also many islands including Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep with vast fin and shellfish biodiversity. Human interference and both natural and artificial factors pose the biggest threat …

Western Indian Ocean and Impacts of SDG14: Life Below Water
Abstract: The SDGs outline a sustainable and inclusive global future. This paper discusses progress toward SDG 14 within the WIO, emphasizing four targets that were set for achievement by 2020. Given that current methods of evaluation of policy-informing lack precision, in this region, little headway has been made toward meeting the set targets, and the attainment of SDG 14 by 2030 does not seem possible. SDG 14.2 and 14.5: Moving at …

Conflict Resolution and Long-term Planning: A Case Study of Bangladesh’s Marine Areas
Abstract: Bangladesh has a significant maritime area (118,813 km2 ), about equal to its land area. As a result, this vast marine area has prompted Bangladesh to exploit its maritime resources in a sustainable manner, which has been dubbed the “Blue Economy.” Bangladesh's maritime region is used for a number of activities, including fishing, shipbuilding, shipping, oil and gas exploration, tourism, energy, and military exercises. User-user conflict and user-environment conflict are …

Solar Sentry: Solar Power Module with Border Alert System for Fishing Vessel
Abstract: Fishermen are being caught and killed by the naval forces of the neighboring country, due to the lack of awareness about the ocean frontiers and advanced alert instruments in the boats. For this reason, maritime security has become a major concern of all coastal areas to protect the fishermen and provide assistance about sea frontiers via alerting, tracking, and monitoring of boat vessels. Thereby, a path-breaking technology of maritime border …
