In vitro Antioxidant Activity of Calotropis Procera
Abstract: Antioxidant activity of root of Calotropis procera extract was evaluated in a series of in vitro assay involving free radicals. IC50 values were determined. Extracts of I. coccinea exhibited scavenging effect in concentration dependent manner in all in vitro method. IC50 of ethyl acetate extract was 48.43, 75.811 and 60.60 μg/ml for 2,2-diphenylpicrylhydrazyl radical scavenging, hydrogen peroxide scavenging, and nitric oxide scavenging, respectively. Ethyl acetate extract shows good in vitro …

Therapeutic Prospects and Comparative Bioactive Evaluation of Fenugreek Seed Extracts
Abstract: A medicinal plant with substantial therapeutic potential, fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) is rich in bioactive phytoconstituents. The phytochemical makeup and antioxidant properties of aqueous and methanolic fenugreek seed extracts were compared in this study. Phenolics, flavonoids, terpenoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins were found in both extracts, with the methanolic fraction showing greater intensity, according to preliminary phytochemical screening. The methanolic extract has higher levels of phenolic, flavonoid, and terpenoid content, …

Regional Variation in Amino Acid Composition, Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Activity of Tasar Sericin from North and South Bihar
Abstract: This study investigates geographical differences in biochemical and functional characteristics of sericin obtained from Antheraea mylitta cocoons sourced from two regions of Bihar, India: Bhagalpur (North) and Banka (South). Sericin was isolated via an alkali-assisted autoclaving process. Amino acid profiles were determined using HPLC. Free radical scavenging capacity was measured through DPPH, ABTS, and hydrogen peroxide assays. Antibacterial and antifungal effects were tested against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Candida …

In vitro/In vivo Study of Anti-inflammatory Effect of Cyperus rotundus on Diabetic Complications
Abstract: The reactive oxygen species (ROS) develop oxidative stress that contributes to the cause of human diseases. Radicals which enhance inflammation are nitric oxide, hydroxyl radical, hydrogen peroxide, and superoxide. Anion mediate and amplify the inflammation process, mediate vascular permeability and platelet aggregation leading to diabetic complications due to disruption of steady state of pro-oxidants and antioxidants. Cyperus rotundus plant extract was subjected to foraging radical activity with hemolysate sample to …
