Comparative Study of Corrosion Resisting Behavior of Steel Reinforcement
Abstract: The corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete had received increasing attention in recent years because of the severe damage to concrete structures. It is so severe that we need a high cost dramatic repair of the structure. The corrosion of reinforcing steel results mainly from the destruction of the protective oxide film by chloride attack or/and carbonation of the concrete. Extensive research into factors contributing to corrosion of reinforcing steel …

Comparative Study of Seismic Performance of Multistory Symmetrical RC Frame Structure with and Without Dampers
Abstract: This paper investigates the influence of friction dampers on the nonlinear seismic performance of multistory structure. The operational mechanism of these devices is that a large amount of energy inputting to the structure could be absorbed and the displacement of the structure is reduced. For this purpose, four types of frames are investigated with dampers at different locations. Three types of natural time histories are used for the nonlinear seismic …

A non-hydrotreated feedstock’s polyaromatic cracking under FCC industrial operating conditions using an equilibrium catalyst
Abstract: Catalytic cracking of non-hydrotreated atmospheric residue’s main polyaromatic hydrocarbon (PAHs) in the presence of an equilibrium catalyst was investigated under industrial operating conditions. During the fluid catalytic cracking process, the catalyst that presented the key factor in hydrocarbon cracking (aromatic by hydrogen transfer reaction) quickly deactivated and compromised the process’s performance due to its acid surfaces and pores covered by the polyaromatic species. A deep study of the catalyst behavior …
