Buccal Drug Delivery System: A Review
Abstract: The occurrence of interfacial molecular attracting force into the surface of biologically known substrates and naturally or synthetically occurring polymer, that in turn permits the polymer to cling to the biologically known surfaces for a prolonged length of time, is known as bio adhesion. Bio adhesive polymerizing system has employed into creation of goods for a variety of biomedical applicability, including surgical glue and denture adhesive, for a long time. …

Outcome of Circumferential Penile Skin versus Dorsal on Lay Buccal Mucosal Urethroplasty for Long Anterior Urethral Strictures: A Prospective Single Centre Experience with Five Years Follow-up
Abstract: Buccal mucosa has become the most popular substitute in the management of urethral strictures. Prior to it, penile skin was the preferred tissue for transfer. In order to see which one is better, we study the outcome of penile versus buccal mucosa for long anterior urethral strictures. A total of 76 patients with long anterior urethral strictures of more than 5 cm were randomly divided into two groups in the …

Acoustic Characteristics of Person with Labial Cancer
Abstract: Oral cancer may arise as a primary lesion originating in any of the tissue in the mouth, by metastasis from a distant site of origin, or by extension from a neighboring anatomic structure, such as nasal cavity. Patients with tongue and lip cancer are particularly prone to speech and swallowing difficulties. The impact of labial cancer on speech relies on the area and size of growth. The present study was …

Preparation and Evaluation of Mucoadhesive Bilayered Buccal Patch using HPMC and Gelatin
Abstract: The buccal drug delivery system has gained more popularity than other drug delivery systems owing to its ease and safe administration. The high permeability of the buccal mucosa allows the drug to reach the systemic circulation and gives rapid onset of action. The buccal route also helps to avoid drug degradation from first-pass hepatic metabolism and improves drug bioavailability. The present study is designed to develop and evaluate the mucoadhesive …

Extragingival Pyogenic Granuloma: A Common Lesion in an Uncommon Location
Abstract: Reactive lesions of the oral mucosa are benign and common entities which occur with greater frequency. When the same lesions occur in uncommon sites, they may pose a challenge in diagnosis. One such lesion is the extragingival pyogenic granuloma, which is a counterpart of the most common reactive lesion, the pyogenic granuloma. A case of extragingival pyogenic granuloma occurring on the buccal mucosa of an elderly patient is being presented. …

Granuloma Pediculatum Benignum: A Case Report and Review of Literature
Abstract: Pyogenic granuloma or granuloma pyogenicum represents about 57% of benign non-neoplastic oral lesions. Pyogenic granuloma of the oral cavity is known to most commonly involve gingiva. Extragingivally, it can occur on the lips, tongue, buccal mucosa and palate. The etiology of the lesion is not known, though it was originally believed to be a botryomycotic infection. It is theorized that pyogenic granuloma possibly originates as a response of tissues to …

A Case Report of Classical Chyle Leak Following Neck Dissection and Their Management
Abstract: Chyle leak following head-and-neck malignancy resection is a rare but potentially life-threatening complication. Management may be problematic and prolonged due to delayed wound healing, nutritional impairment, and extended hospitalization. Here is a case of a 60-year-old male operated for left buccal mucosa composite resection with PMMC flap complicated by a chyle leakage. Formulation Development of Antihypertensive Buccal Patches and Characterisation
Abstract: Buccal patches containing atenolol and nifedipine were fabricated from mucoadhesive polymers like chitosan and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) 15CPS for the purpose of prolonging drug release and improving their bioavailability. The fabricated films were smooth, uniform and the colour was brown with good flexibility. The weight and thickness of all the formulations were found to be uniform. The drug content was in the range of 95–98%, indicating drug uniformity. Swelling index …

Oral Thin Films of Ondanetron Hcl: Formulation and Performance Evaluation
Abstract: This study had the goal to formulate oral polymeric thin film that would dissolve and disintegrate instantly, while also having high mechanical features. These are the most advanced forms of solid dosage forms. Solvent casting was the technique employed to create oral thin films. These are additionally referred to as buccal films/strip, mouth dissolving films, oral thin films, as well as oral strips of paper. These films are suitable for …
