Reverse Micellar Extraction of Direct Yellow-4 dye from Textile Effluent
Abstract: Textile industries and various dye houses are accountable for discharging highly polluted colored effluent leading to severe water pollution. Decolorization of textile effluent is the main challenge faced by these industries. In this study, the solvent extraction method was used to remove anionic dye Direct Yellow-4 (DY-4) from simulated effluent using cationic surfactant CTAB (Cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide) in polar solvent isoamyl alcohol. The removal trend of the dye from aqueous …

Isotherm and Kinetic Studies of Methylene Blue Dye Adsorption Using Sulfuric Acid Activated Nigerian Montmorillonite Clay
Abstract: The Presence of methylene blue and other basic dyes in water causes various harmful effects for both human and aquatic species. In this study, montmorillonite clay in its raw and acid (0.5M H2SO4) activated states were investigated for the sorption of methylene blue dye. The structural changes due to acid treatment were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The studied parameters that affect adsorption efficiency were …

Comparative Adsorption Studies on Raw Rice Husk, Acid Leached Rice Husk and Base Leached Rice Husk by Using Methylene Blue as Dye
Abstract: Current methods for removing dyes from wastewaters are costly and cannot effectively be used to treat wide range of such wastewaters. This work describes the use of raw rice husk (RRH), acid-leached rice husk (ALRH) and base-leached rice husk (BLRH) as adsorbents for decolorization. Characterization of raw rice was done by powder X-ray diffraction (P-XRD) analysis, surface area analysis and scanning electron microscopy. Raw rice husk was collected directly from …

Ameliorating Effect of Vitamin C on Acid Orange 7 Induced Oxidative Stress in the Gill of the Fish, Anabas testudineus (Bloch, 1792)
Abstract: Acid orange 7, an azo dye, was exposed to Anabas testudineus at a sublethal concentration (0.27 g/l) for 24, 72 and 96 h in order to evaluate the antioxidant status in the gill tissue. In addition, vitamin C at 0.55 g/l was exposed for 7 days after the dye exposure. Acid orange 7 decreased the body weight of fish, whereas mucous deposition increased significantly as the first line of defensive …

Extraction of Natural Dye from Red Rose Flowers
Abstract: In this research work, locally available red flowers of the red rose are selected for the extraction of anthocyanin. Ethanol solvent was used to extract anthocyanin from flowers. Different methods are used to obtain natural dyes from flowers. FTIR, pH, and UV tests were performed to characterize the extracted anthocyanin. The pH differential method was used to measure the total anthocyanin content in red rose flowers. The color of the …

Bioscouring And Anionization of Waste Cotton Fabric for Efficient Removal of Malachite Green Dye
Abstract: Adsorption is an efficient method for dye removal but the high cost of adsorbents limits its use, emphasizing the need for sustainable, low-cost alternatives. This study explores the usage of modified cotton fabric for the treatment of malachite green (cationic dye) from wastewater. Cellulase extracted from Raphanus sativus and Daucus carota were evaluated for bioscouring potential which was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy. Further, cotton fabric was chemically modified using …

Preparation, Categorization and Anticancer Study of Novel Bicyclic Compounds from Various Types for (Five and Six)- Membered Ring
Abstract: The characteristics of ring systems change in the presence of functional groups, but in some cases, elements that are considered functional groups can be classified within the same ring. Compounds that contain only carbon and hydrogen are called homogeneous rings, while those that contain other elements are called heterogeneous rings. The atom substituted in place of the carbon atom is referred to as a heteroatom. Generally, the heterocyclic atom is …
