Effect of Different Doses of Phosphorus on the Growth and Yield of Mung Bean (Vigna radiata L.)
Abstract: Phosphatic fertilizers play a vital role in enhancing mung bean production by not only improving crop yield but also increasing the quality of the produce. A field trial was done at the Nepal Polytechnic Institute research field to determine the effect of different levels of phosphorus on yield of Mung bean at Bharatpur, Chitwan during the summer season 2024. The test was carried out as per Randomized Complete Block Design …

Impact of Phosphorus Application Rates on Yield and Yield Components of Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) Varieties in Relation to Water Resources at Yabello, Southern Oromia, Ethiopia
Abstract: Common bean is a key legume crop with significant economic importance in Ethiopia, particularly in the southern region of Oromia. One of the primary constraints to common bean productivity in this region is the issue of soil fertility, which is exacerbated by water scarcity. This study was conducted to assess the impact of phosphorus (P) fertilizer rates on common bean growth and yield, as well as to identify sustainable management …

Assessing Soil Nutrients Through IoT for Enhanced Farming and Agricultural Intelligence
Abstract: Soil fertility is of paramount importance in agriculture, as it directly impacts the capacity of plants to flourish and develop. Recent advancements in technology, such as soil sensors and Arduino, offer effective means to assess soil nutrients. Key nutrients for agriculture, including nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK), are vital for plant development and are considered primary contributors to soil fertility. Monitoring these nutrients enables farmers to gauge the specific needs …

Water Hyacinth-Derived Biopolymers as Reinforcements for Sustainable Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Composites
Abstract: Composting has gained significant attention for sustainable waste management and nutrient recycling. This study investigated the efficacy of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) as a composting material to produce nutrient-rich organic fertilizer. Water hyacinth compost inoculated with nitrogen-fixing (Azotobacter chroococcum) and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (Pseudomonas putida) exhibited increased nitrogen and phosphorus content compared to uninoculated compost or cattle dung compost. Wheat grown with biofertilizer-enriched water hyacinth compost displayed significantly improved grain yield, …

Integrated Assessment of Soil Health Through Macronutrient Status and Physico-Chemical Properties in Selected Agricultural Blocks of Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh, India
Abstract: Soil health is a critical determinant of agricultural sustainability, particularly in ecologically sensitive Himalayan regions where intensive cultivation and heterogeneous landscapes influence nutrient dynamics. Balanced macronutrient availability, together with favourable physico-chemical properties, governs crop productivity, soil resilience, and long-term ecosystem functioning. Despite the agronomic importance of Kangra District (Himachal Pradesh), localized assessments integrating nutrient status with physico-chemical indicators across representative agricultural blocks remain limited. This study aimed to evaluate soil …

Physico-Chemical Soil Analysis: A Scientific Approach to Life on Land and Terrestrial Ecosystem Conservation for Supporting SDG 15 Goals
Abstract: Soil health and fertility evaluation are foundational elements in the sustainable management of ecosystems and the enhancement of agricultural productivity. Accurate assessment of soil properties, especially Carbon (C), Nitrogen (N), and Phosphorus (P), is critical for informed decision-making in agriculture and environmental conservation. However, traditional laboratory methods for analyzing these essential nutrients often involve significant resource allocation and time commitments, making them less practical for large-scale or time-sensitive applications. To …

Bioremediation of Crude Oil-Contaminated Loamy Soil Using Plantain (Musa Paradisiaca) Stem Waste as a Biostimulant
Abstract: Crude oil contamination of soil is a pressing environmental challenge in oil-producing regions, especially in the Niger Delta of Nigeria. It degrades soil fertility, disrupts microbial ecosystems, and poses long-term ecological and health risks. Traditional remediation methods are often cost- prohibitive and environmentally intrusive, prompting the search for sustainable alternatives. This study investigates the potential of plantain (Musa paradisiaca) stem waste – a readily available agricultural byproduct – as a …
