Using Monte Carlo Simulation Approach, Estimation of Stochastic Frontier Production Function and Test of Parameters under Restricted Alternatives
Abstract: The stochastic frontier production function can be used to estimate the technical efficiencies among the firms when all the firms are not technically efficient. In most of the economic problems, prior information about the parameters is known in advance. That is, the sign of the parameters are known, which is also true for the Stochastic Frontier Production. We notice that the existing techniques of estimating the Stochastic Frontier Production Function …

A Review Paper on Las Vegas and Monte Carlo Algorithms
Abstract: Abstract: A randomized calculation is a calculation that utilizes a level of irregularity as a feature of its rationale. The calculation ordinarily utilizes consistently irregular bits as an assistant contribution to manage its conduct, in the expectation of accomplishing great execution in the "normal case" over every conceivable decision of arbitrary bits. Formally, the calculation's execution will be an irregular variable controlled by the arbitrary bits; in this manner, either …

Numerical Simulation of Anomalous Diffusion in Levy Random Walk Processes by Monte Carlo Method
Abstract: We have simulated the nonlinear behaviour of mean square displacement <r2>, with time based on Levy random walk model. By analysing different prospects, we came to the conclusion that, Levy random walk with continuous step length distribution gives rise to <r2> which behaves nonlinearly with time. This is only observable, when time average is taken and ensemble average does not lead to any nonlinearity. It also indicated the non-ergodic property …

On the Omission of Intercept Term in Model Estimation: A Monte Carlo Simulation Study
Abstract: AbstractThe issue of having an intercept term in linear regression model is an unsettled issue in the literature. It can be said that, generally, including the constant term depends on the research. But it must be known that the estimation of parameters differs according to involvement of the constant. If an intercept term exists in the model, the least squares estimate of the slope parameter will be unbiased. In this …

Proportion Tests Applied in Assessors’ Selection Under Assumption Break: The Cases of Sensory Fatigue and Learning Process
Abstract: Triangle trials are commonly employed in panelist selection, describing a Binomial distribution. However, assessors can fatigue or develop sensitivity after many trials, which violate constant proportion assumption. This violation could affect some tests obtained from normal distribution interval estimators (TN1, TN2 and TN3), F distribution (TF), Sequential Test (TS) and Poisson approximation with quantile (TP). To evaluate this tests performance, Monte Carlo simulations were performed for 1000 assessors through 5, …

Fracture Analysis of Functionally Graded Material (FGM) Plates Using Extended Finite Element Method: A Review.
Abstract: Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs), have drawn a lot of interest in various engineering applications due to their superior mechanical properties and ability to withstand extreme conditions. Fracture analysis in FGMs focuses on understanding how cracks initiate and propagate within these complex materials. The stress distribution becomes irregular due to spatial property variations which produces different crack paths than what occurs in homogeneous materials. The Dental Pulp Cap and Pulpotomy: Healing Procedures or Just Plain Magic?
Abstract: Mesenchymal stem cells in the dental pulp are multi-potent progenitors with the ability to differentiate into many different cell types including odontoblasts that function in the formation of reparative (secondary) dentin. However, reparative dentin is a two-edged sword to the pulp; it is necessary to ‘wall-off’ a pulp exposure or pulpotomy, but at the same time, it compresses the pulp in its finite living space causing inflammatory and necrotic changes. …
