Preparation and Characterization of Fenofibrate Freeze-Dried Crystals
Abstract: The present research work was aimed to prepare fenofibrate freeze-dried crystals using poloxamer by freeze-drying technique. Fenofibrate crystals containing poloxamer were prepared by freeze drying using acetone and water as solvent system. The prepared formulations containing drug and poloxamer were evaluated for solubility and in-vitro dissolution. The prepared formulations were characterized by DSC, FT-IR, XRD and SEM. Dissolution profile of the prepared freeze-dried crystals was compared with its physical mixture …

Comparative Evaluation of Autologous T-PRF Versus L-PRF Along with Freeze-dried Bone Allograft in the Management of Intra-bony Osseous Defect—A Report of Two Cases
Abstract: Periodontitis is a multifactorial inflammatory disease, characterized by formation of osseous deformities. Periodontal bone loss that presents with a vertical defect, is also known as an intra-bony defect. Different types of bone grafts may be employed to restore the compromised attachment structure. Freeze-dried bone allograft is a type of allograft which is osteoconductive in nature and acts as a scaffold. Platelet concentrates are biological products, filled with growth factors leading …

AEROGELS – A VALUE ADDITION TO HARVEST SOLAR ENERGY
Abstract: Aerogels are a class of synthetic porous ultralight material that was created in 1930 and derived from a gel, in which the liquid component has been replaced with a gas without collapsing the gel structure by freeze-drying. It is made of silica, but carbon, iron oxide, gold, copper, polymer etc. can also be used. During freeze drying the liquid in the gel is slowly dried off without collapsing the solid …

Understanding Food Spoilage: Mechanisms, Shelf-Life Determination, and Safety Standards
Abstract: Food spoilage poses significant challenges to the global food industry, impacting both food safety and economic sustainability. The main causes of food quality deterioration are microbial and non-microbial spoiling. Microbial spoilage primarily results from the activity of bacteria, yeasts, and molds, which thrive under favorable environmental conditions. These microorganisms can lead to food poisoning and spoilage through the production of off-flavors, discoloration, slime formation, and the accumulation of harmful toxins. …

Solid Lipid Nanoparticles in Medicine: Formulation, Characterization and Future prospects
Abstract: An alternative to conventional colloidal carriers such liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles, and emulsions, solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) were created in the early 1990s. Benefits include targeted medicine distribution, controlled drug release, and improved stability. An extensive review of the excipients utilized, the production techniques, including the membrane contractor approach, and the possible advantages and disadvantages of SLNs is given in this work. It investigates secondary stabilization techniques like freeze-drying and spray-drying, …

Evaluation of Polymer-Ceramic Scaffolds for Dental Bone Regeneration
Abstract: Looking at the aspects of periodontal disease, traumatic injury, congenital defects, and the preparation of implant sites, the deficiency of dental bone, and its reconstruction, which has been simplified by many by oral and maxillofacial surgery, has proven to be a very hard and tedious task. There are many solutions which are clinically accepted, as the use of auto, allo, and xenografts, very common practices in surgery, but they come …

Application of Probiotic Diet on Rats and its Effect on Lipid Profile: A Case-control Study
Abstract: Lipid profile and cholesterol level play an important role in cardiovascular and other life style diseases. A case-control study was designed on 16 rats to observe the effects of probiotic diet for controlling lipid and cholesterol level. Probiotic bacteria culture (Danisco freeze drying culture) was collected from Denmark. The isolation and identification of the strains was carried out at Industrial Food Microbiology laboratory, Institute of Food science and Technology of …

Studies on the Proximate Composition of Yogurt Enriched with Pink Guava Powder
Abstract: Dietary fiber and bioactive chemicals, which have been extensively investigated for their potential health advantages, have recently found new uses in the food and dairy industries. Taking into account the present surge in demand of consumers, an effort is made to increase the nutritional parameter of yogurt, notably the amount of dietary fiber, by the incorporation of freeze-dried pink guava powder (FPGP). The yogurt was made by varying its concentration …

Influence of Additives and Durability Cycles on the Resilient Modulus of Asphalt Stabilized Soil
Abstract: Asphalt stabilized subgrade soils usually show a nonlinear and time dependent response under traffic loading. The elastic property of asphalt stabilized soil is defined by the resilient modulus to represent the nonlinearity behavior with respect to stress level. The aim of this work is to study the impact of durability cycles and additives on the resilient modulus and plastic parameter of the asphalt stabilized soil. Additive materials such as lime …

Enhancing Concrete Durability and Mechanical Properties for Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) Roads Using Basalt Fiber Reinforcement
Abstract: Concrete, by nature, is brittle and has a very low tensile capacity, which is a double whammy in transportation infrastructure, such as pavement quality concrete (PQC), for roadways, where we need durability and strength. One such method is the use of basalt fibre, as it is a much better way of enhancing the road runway way performance of concrete. This research studies the impact of the addition of basalt fibres …
