Comparative Analyses of Select Microbial Growth Inhibited Rate Models
Abstract: Food waste is a complex substrate comprising of different mixtures of chemical compounds. The growth rate of micro-organism in such environment will experience inhibition. Consequently, the Monod’s model will not be able to describe the growth rate of its bacteria. The Aiba’s, Andrews and the Haldane’s growth rate models that are accounts for growth rate of bacteria with inhibition were compared. To do this, seven different batch experimentations; each with …

Abstract: In this study, we aimed to develop a novel, environmentally sustainable, and magnetically separable heterogeneous nanocatalyst, denoted as Fe3O4@ISNA@NiL (where L represents the ligand). The synthesis involved a two-step process, first, isonicotinic acid was chemically grafted onto the surface of iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4) to introduce functional groups capable of further chemical modification. Subsequently, a nickel(II) Schiff base monomeric complex was anchored onto the modified surface, resulting in a nanocatalyst …

Nutritional Status, Bioactive Properties & Therapeutic Efficacy of Omega-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids Obtained by Green Synthetic Routes
Abstract: Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), particularly omega-3 (n-3) fatty acids like eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), are crucial for human health. They support structural brain development, visual acuity, and cardiovascular function, while also exhibiting potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. Historically, marine fish oil has been the primary dietary source of these essential fatty acids. However, escalating concerns regarding ecological environmental impacts, the oceanic bioaccumulation of heavy metal contaminants, …

A Study on Insect Journey using Sensor
Abstract: The orthodox entomologist’s toolkit – the net, the vial, the killing jar – has long rendered its subject’s mute. We have cataloged insects by their form, their pinned and static beauty, but have been largely deaf to the living, breathing reality of their existence. This study proposes a paradigm shift: to listen. By deploying a suite of miniaturized, non-invasive sensors – from accelerometers that trace the micro-vibrations of a beetle’s …
