Quantification of Chromium (III) and Chromium (VI) in the Electroplating Effluents of Homicho Ammunition Engineering Industry
Abstract: Chromium is widely used for plating of the surface of ferrous materials to protect from rust as well as increasing strength. The industrial effluents of wastewater from metal plating workshops into the environment have produced huge and complex wastes which far exceed the assimilative capacity of nature and lead to an irreversible health and ecological consequences. So, the study was aimed to quantify chromium (III) and chromium (VI) in the …

Synthesis And Spectral Of Some Biologically Active Chromium (III) Complexes With Macrocyclic Ligands
Abstract: A large number of modern techniques have been developed for the synthesis of macrocyclic complexes. Forty chromium complexes of the type [CrX2.L1-20]X; (Where X=Cl or NO3; L=macrocyclic ligands) derived from condensation of 2,3-butanedione or 1, 2-diphenyl-ethane 1,2-dione (2mmol) with different aliphatic diamines (2mmol) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, electronic spectra, IR spectra, magnetic moment and X-ray photoelectron data (i.e. XPS data). An octahedral geometry is …

Optimizing the removal of Chromium from aqueous solution by adsorption using sugarcane bagasse
Abstract: In Ethiopian tannery and textile industries, chromium concentration before treatment ranges from 1000 ppm to 5000 ppm. From this concentration about 95 % of chromium exists in the form of Cr (III), which was toxic when its concentration exceeded 5 ppm and oxidized in to Cr (VI). This chromium was disposed to environment with effluent in the form of chromium III and chromium VI was highly toxic to humans, animals …

Aluminum based types of hydrophobic coatings for Engineering Materials: A Review
Abstract: Today's coating applications allow for the employment of a wide range of techniques and substances to safeguard products and structures from chemical and chemical harm. Coatings are now widely utilized in manufacturing across the globe to boost productivity and cut costs, both of which are crucial for maintaining the industry's profitability. Materials with coatings are stronger than those without coatings. Strong and hard metals, ceramics, bioglass, polymers, and plastic materials …

Bio-removal of Cr (VI) from tannery wastewater using Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Abstract: Chrome tanning is the most and widely used types of tanning process and the wastewater generated by these industries is a major source of chromium pollution in the form of Cr (III) & Cr(VI) and become a cause for many human health problems. Several researchers have published papers to find the solution for removal of Cr (VI) but at its low concentration and this research work investigates at high concentration …

Impact of Hexavalent Chromium on Histopathology in Freshwater Stinging Catfish Heteropneustes Fossilis
Abstract: Acute toxicity of Cr (VI) (as K2Cr2O7) to freshwater stinging catfish, Heteropneustes fossilis and its histopathological impacts on gill and liver tissue were evaluated. Fish showed behavioral alterations after K2Cr2O7 exposure and 96 h-LC50 was 35.724 mg/L in static bioassay. Fish were exposed to three sub-lethal concentrations (concentration I=1/4th of 96 h-LC50, concentration II=1/10th of 96 h-LC50 and concentration III=environmental concentration of Cr reported in the river Buriganga). Blood, liver …
