Removal of Chloride from Ground Water Using Natural Adsorbent: Water Hyacinth
Abstract: Groundwater contaminants in rural areas often include chlorides and hardness. Nowadays, due to water scarcity, there is a need to utilize groundwater for construction purposes. According to IS 456:2000, the chloride content in water used for mixing and curing concrete must not exceed 2000 mg/l for plain concrete and 500 mg/l for reinforced concrete work. An excess amount of chloride in water causes the deterioration of structures. Concrete durability and …

Molecular Docking studies of Benzodiazepine Derivatives With GABA(B) Receptor
Abstract: Benzodiazepines (BZDs) are pharmacologically significant compounds that act by binding to GABA A neurotransmitter receptors, subsequently augmenting GABA-induced chloride ion flux, consequently inducing neuronal hyperpolarization. Benzodiazepines are commonly used in the treatment of sleep disorders, anxiety, muscle spasms, seizure disorders, and some forms of depression. The primary inhibitory neurotransmitter, GABA, functions on two types of receptors: the ligand-gated GABA A/C receptors and the G protein-coupled GABA B receptors. These neurotransmitters …

Study the Impact of Corrosive Pollutants on Building Materials Corrosion
Abstract: Reinforced concrete structures (RCS) may be made more resistant to corrosion by using fiber reinforced polymers (FRP). One of the primary concerns with reinforced concrete constructions is corrosion. It causes disintegration in building material components by interactions with salts, acids, and alkalis. Both within and outside of reinforced properties, pollutants and effluents accelerate disbanding. When bio-waste and building materials come into contact, microorganisms and macro organisms, grow and emit acid …

Degradation of Building Materials by Corrosive Pollutants
Abstract: Fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) is used for the corrosion suppression of reinforced concrete structures (RCS). One of the main issues with reinforced concrete constructions is corrosion. It interacts with acids, alkalis and salts to produce disintegration in building materials components. Pollutants and effluents speed up disbanding inside and outside reinforced structures. Bio-wastes come in contact of building materials to develop miro and macro-organism and these organisms release acid substances to …

Polymeric Coating Applied for Corrosion Protection of Mild Steel in Corrosive Medium
Abstract: Mild steel is coated with a polymer layer of polybutadiene for protection. However, this coating does not effectively safeguard the metal in environments containing moisture, sulphur dioxide, or chloride. These pollutants interact with the polybutadiene-coated surface, creating a highly corrosive atmosphere. Moisture condenses on the coated metal surface and absorbs sulphur dioxide, forming sulphuric acid. This acid initiates both chemical and electrochemical reactions with the polymer-coated metal, accelerating the corrosion …
