Design of CMOS AM Modem for Wireless Sensors
Abstract: A design of amplitude modulated (AM) modem, compatible to CMOS technology for its monolithic integration with either wireless microsensors or other sources of baseband signals, is presented in this paper operating in different frequency bands. Circuits functional in different operating conditions are considered in the paper to satisfy the requirement from low- to high-speed signals produced either from the wireless sensor or other signal source to be modulated on a …

Design and Validation of Low Power High Speed area effective comparator using CMOS Technology
Abstract: The most fundamental arithmetic comparisons in a digital comparator involve comparing two numbers that are greater than, less than, or equal to each other. While doing enormous level arithmetic comparisons, a digital comparator needs more space, which results in higher power consumption and a delayed response. This can be solved by using N-bit comparator with two modules using 45GPDK CMOS Technology. An N-bit comparator can operate at extremely high speeds …

Decimator Design for Sigma-Delta ADC
Abstract: This paper describes the design of a decimator which is used in digital signal processing as well as 10-bit sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter to down sample the incoming signal for further applications. It is also used for verification of the sigma-delta modulator functionality to reconstruct the incoming signal. The design has been carried out using 180 nm TSMC, CMOS foundry parameters for spice level 49 model parameters in TANNER EDA (Tspice). …

Design and Implementation of A 4-bit Multiplier using Wallace Tree Architecture in 180 nm Technology
Abstract: Over the period of last decade, power dissipation has become one of the most important factors for VLSI designers in the design of most digital systems. Even though the speed and area are considered to be the critical factors in design of digital systems, there is a trade of with power consumption. Adders and multipliers are the most important arithmetic units in a processor and the major sources of power …

An Overview on MOSFET based Sensor Design
Abstract: In the past two decades the MOSFET has transformed from a simple switch in digital logic to an analog powerhouse that can be cofabricated with the sensing material on a single chip. MetalOxideSemiconductor FieldEffect Transistors (MOSFETs) have silently become the beating heart of modern sensor platforms, translating the faint whispers of physical, chemical, and biological phenomena into robust electrical signatures. This abstract surveys the latest advances that have turned the …

An Overview on Quantum dot technology in Temperature sensor design
Abstract: Quantumdot (QD) thermometry harnesses the sizedependent electronic structure of semiconductor nanocrystals to translate minute temperature variations into robust optical signals. In this work we present a systematic design framework for QDbased temperature sensors that integrates (i) bandgap engineering through precise colloidal synthesis, (ii) surfacestate passivation to suppress nonradiative pathways, and (iii) a planar photonicreadout architecture compatible with lowcost, CMOSfriendly fabrication. By exploiting the linear redshift of the photoluminescence (PL) peak …

Multi-Sensor System for Underwater Pothole Detection to Enhance Road Safety During Monsoon Seasons
Abstract: Monsoon seasons across India and similar tropical regions severely compromise road safety by causing water accumulation that conceals dangerous potholes beneath stagnant pools, leading to frequent vehicle damage, tire punctures, and fatal accidents. Traditional detection methods relying on smartphone accelerometers, ultrasonic sensors, or machine vision fail under flooded conditions due to acoustic signal reflection at water surfaces and optical distortions from glare and turbidity. This research proposes an innovative multi-sensor …

Comparative Study of a 32 bit Clock Gated ALU based on Carry Skip Adder and Ripple Carry Adder
Abstract: The ALU is one of the most frequently accessed modules in a CPU and is utilized during most instruction executions. Hence the power consumption of the ALU is a major concern. In this paper a low power 32 bit ALU is designed using VHDL. Lower power consumption is achieved by using clock gating technique than conventional design. A carry skip adder with variable block length is used for the arithmetic …

Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor Readout Integrated Circuit for Imaging Applications
Abstract: In this paper presents a novel continuous-time simultaneous-readout scheme for active imaging systems based on orthogonal modulation of photo detector signals. The superimposed-continuous-time approach presented here differs from the conventional scheduled-discrete-time scheme in that the photo detector signals are summed in a common bus concurrently and then converted to voltage levels for digitization. We illustrate that our proposed architecture may be profitable. Predominantly, in solicitations, the bandwidth necessities for a …
