Antioxidant activity of Passiflora foetida leaf extracts and silver nanoparticles in diabetic induced rats
Abstract: The anti-oxidant system present in our body prevents against the free radicals. Anti-oxidants were glutathione peroxidise, serum catalase, vitamin E, ascorbic acid and superoxide. In our study the plant extract of Passiflora foetidae were used to estimate the antioxidant levels in diet-induced diabetic rats. The mean of glutathione peroxide of normal rats was 92.98±1.65. "The mean of diet-induced diabetic rats was 152.50 ± 1.92*. Diabetic rats treated with sitagliptin and vildagliptin had …

Studies on the antioxidant content and antimicrobial activity of cucumber (cucumissativus) peel collected from bagmari, kolkata, west bengal, india
Abstract: Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is widely consumed across the globe, yet its peels are commonly discarded as waste, despite possessing a wealth of bioactive compounds. Recent studies have highlighted that these peels contain substantial amounts of antioxidants, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic properties, making them a promising candidate for value-added applications. In this study, methanolic extracts (80% v/v) of cucumber peels were systematically analyzed to assess their total phenolic content (TPC), total …

In Silico Analysis and Docking Study of the Active Phytocompounds of Bacopa monnieri Against Alzheimer Disease
Abstract: Objective: Alzheimer’s is a neurodegenerative disease and is the cause of 60–70% of cases of dementia. It infected a million people worldwide. An effort was undertaken to explore the potential of natural compounds found in Bacopa monnieri, a plant renowned for its extensive medicinal properties in Indian Ayurveda, to combat the disease. This was achieved through molecular docking studies, evaluation of drug-likeness, and comprehensive ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) …

Evaluation of Anti-cataract Potential of Carbocisteine by Using In Vitro Goat Lens Model
Abstract: This study includes Carbocisteine has four Oxygen molecules, one Sulfur molecule, and one Nitrogen molecule. Goat eyeballs were used in the present study. They were obtained from the slaughterhouse. Glucose at a concentration of 55 mM was used to induce cataracts; glucose (5.5 mM) concentration served as a normal control, and Ascorbic Acid served as a standard control. Incubation of lenses with glucose 55 mM showed opacification starting after 8 …

In Silico Screening of Terminalia chebula Phytocompounds as Potential Inhibitors of NTCP and DDB1 in Hepatitis B Virus Infection
Abstract: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a major global health concern, and chronic carriers are at risk of developing cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and even death. Existing treatments can effectively inhibit viral replication, but they achieve little eradication of the virus because of covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA) retention. In this investigation, bioactive compounds of Terminalia chebula, a plant known for its hepatoprotective and antiviral properties in traditional medicine, were …

Nitrosamine Accumulation, Processing Variables, and Indigenous Plant Inhibitors in Nigerian Traditionally Processed Meats
Abstract: N-nitrosamines are classified as probable or possible human carcinogens by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Carcinogenic N-nitrosamines — principally N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) and N-nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA) — are formed in abundance during the preparation of widely consumed Nigerian traditional processed meats including suya, kilishi, and balangu. This original investigation combined a six geopolitical zone of Nigerian market survey with laboratory-controlled model system experiments, effects of processing parameters on N-Nitrosamine formation …

Toxicological Optimization and Assessment of Buccal Films Containing Felodipine Co-crystals to Enhance Bioavailability
Abstract: The preformulation study of felodipine was carried out and it was found that the drug is poorly water soluble. The co-crystals were prepared using three different co-formers sorbitol, ascorbic acid and oxalic acid. The solublity enhancement was observed in combination with sorbitol compared to other co-formers used. The characterization of co crystals was performed like PXRD, FTIR, SEM Analysis. XRD results indicates the amorphous form of the drug. The co-crystals …

Extraction Properties of Mangifera indica Seed Kernels: A Comprehensive Analysis of Their Industrial Potential
Abstract: Mango (Mangifera indica) is widely regarded as one of the world's finest fruits, with a rich nutritional profile, including fiber, riboflavin, carotene, and ascorbic acid. Among its lesser-known components, the mango seed kernel offers significant nutritional and industrial value. Mango kernels are composed of protein, fat, carbohydrates, crude fiber, and ash, and contain bioactive compounds such as polyphenols, phytosterols, and tocopherols. The fat extracted from mango seed kernels has shown …
