A Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Information Booklet on Knowledge Regarding the Usage of Menstrual Cups and Their Benefits Among Teenage Girls in Selected Pre-University (PU) Colleges, Tumkur
Abstract: Menstruation is a natural and essential biological process experienced by millions of women worldwide every month. However, despite its universality, menstruation continues to be surrounded by social stigma, myths, and inadequate awareness, particularly in low- and middle-income countries like India. The lack of proper menstrual education often leads to fear, embarrassment, and discomfort among adolescent girls as they begin to experience their menstrual cycles. These challenges hinder their ability to …

Studies on the Self-Assembly of Steroids and DNA Mediated by Naphthalene based Amphiphilic Block Copolymer
Abstract: Amphiphilic block copolymers have attracted considerable interest in pharmaceutical and biomedical applications, including controlled drug release, gene delivery, and biomolecular sensing. In this study, fluorescent amphiphilic block copolymers were designed to facilitate interactions with biological molecules such as DNA and antiviral agents, enabling their behavior to be monitored through fluorescence spectroscopy. Two novel block copolymers, poly(methyl methacrylate) - b - poly(dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate - co - naphthyl methacrylate) [PMMA-b-P(DMAEMA-co-NMA)] and poly(styrene) …

Steam Activated Carbon Material from the Fruit Shells of Sterculia foetida for Energy and Environmental Applications
Abstract: Steam activation of the biochar from Sterculia foetida forms a green route for the synthesis of activated carbon material with high specific surface area (1017 m2/g). The corresponding value with a chemical activating agent (K2CO3) is much lower (596 m2/g). Structural parameters of the activated carbon materials were deduced from XRD studies. Moreover the thermal stability of the activated carbon materials from steam activation is nearly 100°C higher than that …

Photochemical Insights into Light: Responsive Heterocyclic Compounds
Abstract: eterocyclic compounds are significant in a wide range of chemical fields. They are crucial components of the structural makeup of bioactive substances. Such compounds can be conveniently transformed through photochemical processes. Chemical reagents are rarely utilized. It is possible for members of one compound family to change into members of another. There is discussion of three key categories of photochemical rearrangements involving heterocyclic compounds: Photochemical reactions involving hydrogen atom transfer …

Bio Materials and Nanotechnology: Green Tea (Waste)– Aluminium Nanoparticles (Gt-Al Nps) For Methylene Blue Adsorption
Abstract: This study examines the adsorption of Methylene Blue (MB) dye from aqueous solutions using Aluminium Nanoparticles synthesized with green tea powder as a biological reducing agent. Methylene Blue, an aromatic phenothiazine dye, is widely applied in medical diagnostics and various industrial processes, but its uncontrolled release into water bodies leads to environmental pollution due to its intense colour, stability, and potential toxicity. Therefore, identifying an efficient and eco-friendly adsorbent for …

Quorum Sensing and Biofilm Dynamics in Pathogens: An Evolving Frontier in Infectious Disease
Abstract: Bacterial and fungal pathogens rarely act as solitary invaders. Instead, they engage in sophisticated chemical communication known as quorum sensing (QS) to coordinate population-wide behaviours and construct structured, multicellular biofilm communities. These biofilms, composed of extracellular polymeric substances, not only facilitate microbial persistence on biotic and abiotic surfaces but also confer remarkable protection against host immune defenses and antimicrobial therapies. QS systems act as central regulators of biofilm dynamics, orchestrating …

Exploring the Bioactive Potential of Himalayan Lichens: Phytochemical and Antimicrobial Profiling of Xanthoparmelia tinctina and Pyxine subcinerea Extracts
Abstract: The symbiotic association that develops between cyanobacteria, algae, and fungi results in the composite organism known as lichens, which has traits similar to those of plants but differs in its separate parent organisms. Lichens can have a variety of morphological characteristics, including foliose structures that resemble flat leaves, crustose structures that resemble flake crystals, fruticose branches that have short, leafless branches, and leprose-powder-like appearances. Due to their therapeutic potential, lichens …

Generative Design of Bioactive Orthopedic Composites for Fracture Repair Using an Integrated Conditional GAN–Transformer Framework: A Multi-Objective Approach
Abstract: Orthopedic composite implants for fracture repair must simultaneously satisfy conflicting mechanical and biological demands: high fracture toughness, sufficient compressive stiffness, and bioactive surface chemistry enabling osteoblast adhesion and mineralization. Existing design approaches rely on trial-and-error experimentation, yielding sub-optimal trade-offs between these objectives. This paper presents an integrated conditional Generative Adversarial Network–Transformer (cGAN-T) framework for fully computational, multi-objective generative design of hydroxyapatite (HA)-reinforced polymer composite microstructures targeting Orthopedic fracture repair. A …
