Preparation of Phase – Pure Nanocrystalline Anatase and Rutile TiO2 using Hydrolysis of TiCl4 in presence of surfactants
Abstract: Hydrolysis of TiCl4 was carried out in two different ways to prepare nano crystalline TiO2. In the first method the hydrolysis of TiCl4 was carried under high acidic conditions at low temperature. In the second method hydrolysis was carried out using (NH4)2SO4 as an additive. It can be seen that the hydrolysis of TiCl4 under high acidic conditions promotes the growth of rutile phase of TiO2, where as hydrolysis in …

Optical and Microstructural Changes in 5(6)-Carboxyfluorescein Doped PVA
Abstract: AbstractThe effect of 5(6) Carboxyfluorescein dye on microstructural and optical properties of a Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) have been studied by using FTIR and UV-Visible absorption techniques. FTIR spectral result shows the possible interaction between the dye and PVA. The UV-Visible spectra shows three absorption bands (around 227nm, 310nm and 450nm) and from the observed optical band edges in the UV-Visible spectra, three optical band gaps and three activation energies for …

Microstructural, Mechanical and Strengthening Mechanisms of Al7075 Metal Matrix Composite with Al2O3 Nano Particle Processed Through Ultrasonic Cavitation Assisted Stir-casting
Abstract: In this investigation, we produced Al7075 matrix composites using a stir casting method enhanced by ultra-sonic cavitation, reinforcing them with nano-Al2O3 particles. The SEM microstructural analysis confirmed the presence of nano-Al2O3 particles in all the composites, showcasing their consistent particle size and reasonably even distribution within the matrix. Optical microscopic examinations revealed that the presence of nano-Al2O3 particles, along with the aggressive ultrasonic cavitation effect, resulted in grain refinement in …

Maximum Power Point Tracking of a Variable Speed Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator Based Wind Energy Conversion System
Abstract: Wind turbines produce maximum power at the optimal tip-speed ratio. Fixed speed wind turbines are inefficient because the turbine blades rotate at a specific mechanical speed irrespective of the prevailing wind speed. The system is therefore, not able to extract the maximum possible amount of power. In this work, a maximum power point tracking scheme for a variable-speed permanent magnet synchronous generator based wind energy conversion system is implemented in …

Covariance based Clustering for Digital Image Compression
Abstract: Traditionally clustering is done based on distance between the data points and the cluster centroids. A new type of clustering based on distance between the covariance matrices of the clustered data points was recently introduced. This allows clustering data points according to their spatial distribution model. This paper presents an improved algorithm for the computation of covariance based clustering with application to digital image compression. Karhunen-Loeve Transform is an optimal …
