Synthesis, Molecular Docking and Biological Evaluation of Novel Chlorobenzenesulfonamide Analogues of Ibuprofen as Anti-Bacterial, Anti-Diabetic and Anti-Alzheimer Agents
Abstract: In this work, we have synthesized novel chlorobenzensulfonamide tertiary amide based analogues of Ibuprofen (Ibu) and investigated them for their anti-bacterial, anti-diabetic and anti-Alzheimer activities. In the first step, Ibu was converted to amide derivatives by incorporating different aromatic amines. These were further converted into sulfonamide analogues (Sul-Ibu, 1-9) by treating it with p-chlorobenzensulfonyl chloride. Sul-Ibu (1-9) were screened against S. aureus, B. subtilis, S. mutans, E. coli, P. aeruginosa, …

Microbial Population Dynamics during Phytobioremediation of Hydrocarbon- Contaminated Swampy and Clay Soils
Abstract: Soil contamination by petroleum hydrocarbons remains a critical environmental challenge, particularly in wetland and clay-rich ecosystems where natural attenuation processes are often limited. This study investigates the response of total heterotrophic bacteria (THB) during the bioremediation of hydrocarbon-contaminated swampy and clay soils amended with Moringa oleifera biomass and elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum). The objective was to evaluate microbial population dynamics under varying amendment dosages and to identify treatment conditions favorable …

Demodex spp. (Acari: Demodicidae) Infestation in Humans: Diagnostic Clues and Therapeutic Approaches to Primary and Secondary Demodicosis.
Abstract: Demodicosis represents an inflammatory dermatosis and adnexal disorder arising from pathologic overgrowth of Demodex mites, primarily Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis, which are ubiquitous human ectoparasites residing in pilosebaceous units and eyelid margins. Once regarded as benign commensals, these mites are now recognized as primary drivers or key cofactors in diverse clinical phenotypes, including papulopustular eruptions, pityriasis folliculorum, rosacea-like disorders, blepharitis, meibomian gland dysfunction, and exacerbations of comorbid dermatoses such …

Anthrax Toxin Time-Resolved Absorption and Resonance FT-IR and Raman Biospectroscopy and Density Functional Theory (DFT) Investigation of Vibronic-Mode Coupling Structure in Vibrational Spectra Analysis
Abstract: Anthrax toxin is a three-protein exotoxin that is secreted by the bacterium's virulent strains, the anthrax causative agent Bacillus anthracis. Harry Smith first found the toxin in 1954. Anthrax toxin consists of a protein called a protective antigen (PA) binding cell protein and two enzyme parts called an edema factor (EF) and a deadly factor (LF). These three protein components act together to impart their physiological effects. Assembled complexes containing …

Pathogenesis and Treatment of Tuberculosis (T.B) Disease
Abstract: Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious illness spread through the air that is caused by organisms from the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex. M. tuberculosis is a lung infection in primary stage, but it can infect any area of the body. M. tuberculosis infection can progress from latent TB infection, in which the bacteria are isolated within granulomas, to infectious infection, in which the patient develops symptoms such as cough, fever, night sweats, …

Synthesis, Characterization and Biological Activity: Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) Complexes of Schiff Bases Derived from 4-Cyanobenzaldehye and 4-Amino-5-Mercapto-3-Methyl/Ethyl-1,2,4-triazoles
Abstract: Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of bidentate Schiff bases derived from the condensation of 4-amino-5-mercapto-3-methyl-1,2,4-triazole and 4-amino-3-ethyl-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole with 4-cyanobenzaldehyde have been synthesized. The synthesized Schiff bases and their metal complexes were then characterized by elemental analysis, spectroscopic methods (IR, NMR, electronic spectra), magnetic moment measurement and thermogravimetric techniques. The electronic spectra and magnetic moment studies suggest octahedral geometry for Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) complexes and square planar geometry for …

Biofertilizers: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
Abstract: India, being an agriculture-based country, there has always been a concern about crop improvement here. Chemical fertilizers increased crops yield, but eventually leached out soil, polluted water basins, degraded ecosystems, reducing soil fertility and thus causing damage to overall environment. Organic fertilizers are costlier and they released nutrients in the surrounding environment thus degrading soil and water quality and human health. Thus came into picture the use of GM crops …

Isolation, Production and Purification of Antibiotics Isolation from Microbes from Soil
Abstract: A chemical compound acting against life is called antibiotics. The term “antibiotic” literally means “against life”. The term appeared as early as 1928 in the French microbiological literature as antibiosis. The phenomenon of antagonism between living organisms was frequently observed even since 1877, when Pasteur and Joubert noticed that aerobic bacteria antagonized the growth of Bacillus anthracis. However, the world in its present restrictive meaning, “a chemical substance derived from …
