Thermally Stimulated Luminescence and Electron Spin Resonance Study of Gamma Irradiated Poly Carbonate
Abstract: Polycarbonate (PC) is an industrially important polymer. Gamma irradiation effects of PC are investigated by thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) and electron spin resonance (ESR) techniques. The TSL spectra of irradiated PC have shown two glow peaks, around 149oC (422 K) and 165oC (438 K). The observed glow peaks are analysed by initial rise methods, Chen’s method and modified initial rise method. The trap parameters corresponding to the two glow peaks …

Ground Based Study of the Effect of Open and Close Chamber Condition on Banana Ripening Process
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false IN X-NONE X-NONE Level of O2 and CO2 plays an important role on ethylene biosynthesis during ripening of the climacteric fruit. Low level of O2 and high level of CO2 will affect ACS and ACO enzyme activities and will impede ethylene production. Thus, reduce ethylene level will eventually delay fruit ripening process. Pre-climacteric banana fruits (Musa sp.) were chosen based on ripening level, size, shape, …

Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis: A Rare Presenting Manifestation of Thyrotoxicosis
Abstract: Thyrotoxicosis may be related to hypokalemic periodic paralysis in young asian males. Periodic paralysis related to hypokalemia as the initial manifestation without any clinical signs and symptoms of thyrotoxicosis is exceedingly rare. Our patient is a 25-year-old male who presented with quadriparesis with respiratory distress when he woke up in the morning. There was history of high carbohydrate intake one day prior. On examination he had single breath count of …

Effect of temperature shift on Dr. JRK’s 777 oil
Abstract: AbstractThe physical and functional change of Dr. JRK’s 777 oil subjected to extreme temperature was studied. Cyclic shift or timed shift of the oil from extreme cold to ambient temperature and vice versa has not affected either physical or functional change. However the initial storage temperature is found to have a great role in influencing the above feature of the oil. We have performed acid value and iodine value to …

Impact of Mercuric Iodide on the Growth of Phormidium spp.
Abstract: Cyanobacteria are microalgae which are freely distributed in aquatic environment. They are photosynthetic organisms and can fix atmospheric nitrogen under anerobic condition. Such cyanobacteria have been applied as a nitrogen fertilizer in agriculture to improve the crop yield. Since the application of chemical fertilizers in crop fields created heavy metal pollution which could be neutralized by microalgae under aquatic environment. They have ability to tolerate the heavy metal concentrations under …

Morse Code Translator to Convert Text to Morse Code and Morse to Text
Abstract: Initially, Morse code exclusively conveyed numerals through a series of dits (dots) and dahs (dashes). Alfred Vail later expanded its use to include letters and characters. Morse code can be conveyed through different channels, including electric telegraph wires, light signals, and audible sound. American prisoners utilize the Tap code for communication. Morse code serves as a means of long-distance communication and was established by European nations in 1851 as the …

The Onset of Rayleigh-Bénard-Marangoni Convection in a Ferromagnetic Fluid Layer
Abstract: This study examined the implications of magnetic boundary conditions, which are vertical in nature, on buoyancy and surface tension–driven ferrothermal convection (FTC) in a ferrofluid layer. While the upper surface is stress-free and susceptible to general thermal boundary issues, the bottom surface is stiff and insulating against temperature changes. The eigenvalue issue is solved analytically using the regular perturbation method and numerically using the Galerkin technique. According to analysis, raising …
