Enhancing Control with Embedded Ssvep-Bci
Abstract: Brain–Computer Interface (BCI) technology establishes a direct communication link between the human brain and external devices without relying on muscular activity. Among various BCI paradigms, the Steady-State Visually Evoked Potential (SSVEP)-based approach has gained significant attention due to its high signal-to-noise ratio, minimal user training, and suitability for real-time applications. However, implementing such systems on embedded hardware presents challenges such as limited computational resources, signal noise, and latency in processing. …

Speech and Swallowing Impairments in Herpes Zoster: A Case Report
Abstract: Herpes zoster (HZ), caused by reactivation of varicella-zoster virus, can extend beyond dermatological manifestations to involve cranial nerves, resulting in complex speech and swallowing deficits. This case report presents a 54-year-old male with herpes zoster–related cranial neuropathy, who developed unilateral vocal fold paralysis, dysphonia, and dysphagia. Comprehensive assessment included perceptual, acoustic, endoscopic, and patient-reported outcome measures. Perceptual voice evaluation revealed severe dysphonia with breathiness, asthenia, strain, and reduced loudness, confirmed …

Effectiveness of Muscle Energy Technique Versus Conventional Therapy on Hamstring Tightness Among Sportspersons: A Comparative Study
Abstract: Background: Hamstring tightness is a frequent musculoskeletal concern among athletes, often contributing to limited flexibility, decreased performance levels, and a higher likelihood of sustaining injuries. Muscle energy technique (MET) has gained attention as a therapeutic approach aimed at enhancing muscle length and improving overall function. Objective: This study aims to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of the MET with that of traditional physiotherapy methods in alleviating hamstring tightness in sportspersons. …

Reimagining Solid Waste Management in India: A case of Circular approach in C&D Waste Management
Abstract: Construction and demolition (C&D) waste, which accounts for an estimated 150–500 MT yearly and about 10–20% of the nation's total municipal solid waste (MSW) generation, is a significant management challenge for India. Accelerated urbanization, population increase, infrastructural expansion, and urban redevelopment initiatives are the main causes of this quickly expanding waste stream. Much of this waste is disposed of through uncontrolled dumping, encroachment on low-lying areas, and overcrowded landfills in …

Contribution of Dalak (Massage) in the Treatment of Waja-uz-Zohar (Back Pain): A Review
Abstract: Classical Unani literature presents a detailed understanding of Waja-ul-Mafasil (diseases of bones and joints) among which Waja-uz-Zohar (low back pain) has received extensive attention. Distinguished Unani physicians meticulously described its etiology, clinical features, complications, and treatment modalities. According to Unani theory Waja-uz-Zohar is defined as pain originating from the muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues surrounding the lumbar and lumbosacral regions. Prominent scholars, such as Ibn Sina and Zakariya Razi, attributed …

Biomechanical Impact of Text Neck Syndrome on Cervical Spine and Upper Quarter Musculoskeletal System
Abstract: Text Neck Syndrome (TNS) has emerged as a modern musculoskeletal disorder associated with prolonged use of handheld digital devices, resulting in sustained cervical flexion and altered spinal biomechanics. This article explores the biomechanical consequences of TNS on the cervical spine and upper quarter musculoskeletal system, including muscular imbalance, altered load distribution, ligamentous strain, and degenerative changes. Increased cervical flexion significantly elevates compressive forces on intervertebral discs and facet joints, disrupting …

Challenges And Constraints Affecting Female-Owned Rural Farm Businesses in Plateau State, Nigeria
Abstract: This study examined the challenges and constraints affecting female-owned rural farm businesses in Plateau State, Nigeria. No prior study had conducted a comprehensive, quantitative, state-wide investigation covering all 17 local government areas (LGAs) of the state, and this study addressed that gap. The objectives were to identify the challenges faced by female-owned rural farm businesses, assess their relationship with business performance, and determine how strongly these challenges predicted performance outcomes. …
