Hemophilia and Gene Therapy–Review
Abstract: The coagulation factor VIII or factor IX genes are affected by the monogenic mutational illness known as hemophilia. Recombinant clotting factors, which are secure and efficient, are the preferred palliative therapy. In order to ensure steady and long-lasting concentrations of the damaged circulating factor, advanced therapies will be curative. Adeno-associated vectors have primarily been used, and the results have been positive in terms of amounts and timings of expression. These …

Development of a Nursing Care Protocol for Patients with Stroke in the First 24 Hours of Thrombolysis
Abstract: Even though thrombolysis in acute stroke predicts good outcome, these patients are at risk for developing complications of thrombolysis as well as the disease itself. Strict monitoring and effective interventions initiated early in the first 24 h can enhance the recovery process and minimize functional disability. This methodological study was undertaken to study the current practices of nursing care and to develop a nursing care protocol for the care of …

Neurocystic Lesions: Anatomical, Surgical and Radiological Study
Abstract: Cystic lesions tend to be underestimated most of the times. These lesions are not uncommon. The brain is a common site of cysts. Clinically, they can be asymptomatic in the brain or sometimes be present with clinical symptomatology. The incidence and prevalence of brain cysts may differ in different parts of the world as many cysts are parasitic in nature and some parasites are endemic. The present article presents an …

Clinicoradiological Evaluation of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension
Abstract: Idiopathic intracranial hypertension refers to elevated intracranial pressure when there is no detectable space-occupying lesion. Individuals with idiopathic intracranial hypertension commonly exhibit classic indications of increased intracranial pressure, including headaches, nausea, neck discomfort, double vision, temporary visual obscurity, and swelling of the optic nerve head (papilledema). Typical magnetic resonance imaging findings include empty sella, optic nerve tortuousity, globe flattening, and transverse sinus stenosis. All patients from July 2021 to June …

Dry Cough (Su‘āl Yābis): Causes and Management
Abstract: Unani system is based on the concept of equilibrium and balance of one or more than one of six essential factors which leads to weakening of tabi’at (physis) which further leads to alteration in humours and temperament (su’al mizaj) of individual, resulting more weakening of tabi’at tends to causation of disease. Cough is a reflex action due to physis of lungs to excrete out the irritant from lungs in response …

Concept of “Tabi‘at” with a Brief Description of Its Synchronised Activity
Abstract: Unani System of medicine stands to maintain the health and cure the disease with an emphasis on prevention is better than cure. The ancient Unani philosopher-physicians put forth the concept of “Tabi‘at” as the power endowed by nature to everyone to govern the task of survival. Tabi‘at is the Sayyad-ul-Quwa (supreme power) under which many other subsequent powers work. In general, Tabi‘at regulates all physiological functions in the body, broadly …

Design and Performance Analysis of a Log Periodic Dipole Antenna with a Frequency Range of 1350 to 2690 MHz
Abstract: The introduction of broadband systems to communication and non-communication technologies has demanded the design of broadband antennas. RF antennas have relatively small bandwidth and poor directivity while the log periodic dipole antenna (LPDA) provides better directivity and gain with wide bandwidth. For a communication link and data transmission at higher rates, wider bandwidth is required with high gain and directivity. This necessitates designing a wideband antenna. In this paper, a …
