Abstract: The paper presents Rail Clamping Sequence based Pulse Width Modulation (RCPWM) algorithms applied to Direct Torque Control (DTC) of induction motor drive. This RCPWM based DTC retains all the advantages of conventional DTC (CDTC), moreover it eliminates the complexity involved in SVPWM algorithm and results in reduced current ripple at higher modulation indices and lowers the switching losses at all modulation indices.
