Biological Membranes: Structure, Function, and Their Roles in Disease Pathophysiology
Abstract: Biological membranes are important structures that control cellular work, signal transmission, transport, and communication. Dysfunction of membranes has been considered in the development of many diseases, such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and infections, with the distortion of lipid composition, protein activity, and cellular connections involved in the pathogenesis of the disease. The damage on membrane can be caused by oxidative stress, genetic mutation, and environmental influence to disrupt cellular homeostasis. …

A Sustainable EOQ Model for Declining Products Incorporating Cubic Demand, Variable Deterioration, Partial Backlogging, and Carbon Emission Optimization
Abstract: In this paper proposes a sustainable Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model for inventory systems involving decaying items under cubic time-dependent demand, variable decaying rates, and partial backlogging while absolutely considering carbon emission costs. The model reflects practical market actions where demand initially increases and afterwards declines over time, and decay depends on the age of the item. To demonstrate the current model's applicability as well as evaluate the trade-off between …

Reactivity of Monochlorotetrakis2-Isopropylphenoxoniobium(V), [NbCl(OC6H4CH(CH3)2-2)4] towards Chelating Ligands
Abstract: The niobium(V) complexes with the formula [NbCl(OC₆H₄CH(CH₃)₂-2)₄] were successfully synthesized in high yields through the reaction of niobium pentachloride with four equivalent amounts of 2-isopropylphenol in carbon tetrachloride. The synthesized complexes were characterized and confirmed by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, infrared (IR) spectroscopy, ^1H and ^13C NMR spectroscopy, as well as mass spectrometric analysis. The spectroscopic studies have shown these to exhibit dimeric structures bridging through isopropylphenoxo groups. The …

Early Life Nutrition as a Determinant of Long-Term Vaccine Immunogenicity in Livestock: Mechanisms, Practical Strategies, and Species-Specific Considerations
Abstract: Early life represents a critical period for immune system development in livestock, during which nutritional exposures can exert long lasting effects on vaccine immunogenicity. Although vaccination is a cornerstone of infectious disease control in food producing animals, marked variability in vaccine induced immune responses is frequently observed under commercial conditions. Growing evidence suggests that this variability is partly driven by differences in early nutritional status, which can influence immune maturation, …
