Model Optimisation of Waterflood and Low Salinity Brine Injection to Enhance Gas Condensate Recovery – A Case Study of A Rich Gas Condensate Sandstone Reservoir in The Offshore Tano Basin of Ghana
Abstract: To enhance production of entrapped condensate in gas-condensate reservoirs without delay in produced gas sales, this study looked at the impact of waterflood and low saline brine injection on an offshore gascondensate reservoir in the Tano Basin, Ghana, West-Africa. The injector well placements, rate, and pressure were optimised using three optimisers (Differential Evolution, Particle Swarm Optimisation, Design Exploration and Controlled Evolution). Condensate and gas recovery increased by 30.3% (from 19.1% …

Development and Mechanical Characterization of Polymer based Bio Composite Filaments for FDM Applications
Abstract: Additive Manufacturing (AM) is an advanced fabrication process capable of producing complex and intricate components to meet diverse industrial and customer demands. For small-scale producers and researchers, FDM is the most straightforward, affordable, and easily accessible of the several AM processes. The majority of conventional polymer feedstocks used in FDM lack sufficient mechanical strength and thermal stability, which limits their use in load-bearing or structural components. This effort aims to …

Geotechnical Assessment and Stabilisation of Lateritic Soils in Tarkwa Using Rice Husk Ash for Road Construction Purpose
Abstract: The cost effectiveness of upgrading gravel roads to a sealed standard has challenged road authorities to make optimum use of naturally occurring materials such as laterites as sub-base and base materials. Untreated laterites have presented problems such as pavement swelling and depression in road construction. This research seeks to assess and stabilise the geotechnical properties of some lateritic soils in Tarkwa using Rice Husk Ash for road construction purposes. Lateritic …

The Application of Python Programming Language in the Automation of a Mathematical Model for Well Trajectory Selection Optimisation for a Given Field
Abstract: Directional drilling plays a major role in the exploration and recovery of hydrocarbons. There are three basic trajectories that a well may follow. They include; Build-and-Hold, Build-Hold-andDrop and Continuous-Build Trajectories. The selection of a trajectory is usually based on experience/trial and error approach and may be associated with errors. This work has therefore developed a mathematical model that optimised the automatic selection of a well trajectory type for a given …

An Oil and Gas Retrofitted Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage Value Chain: A Green Industry
Abstract: Fossil fuel consumption continues to be crucial to industrialisation. It has continued to contribute to over 80% of the world’s total primary energy production for the past three decades. The primary cause of climate change, however, has been identified to be the rising greenhouse gases emission from the use of fossil fuels. Hence, a proposed solution to this is to switch to greener, lower-carbon energy sources. Despite growing concern over …
