Gold Nanoparticle Size, Biodistribution, and Toxicity: Insights from DualEnergy CT
Abstract: Dual-energy and spectral computed tomography (CT) have emerged as powerful platforms for noninvasive, quantitative mapping of nanoparticle biodistribution in vivo. By exploiting the energy-dependent attenuation profiles of high-atomic-number (high-Z) materials, these systems enable material decomposition and element-specific imaging, thereby distinguishing nanoparticle signals from those of soft tissues and conventional iodinated contrast agents. Photon-counting spectral CT further enhances this capability by binning individual photons into multiple energy channels, improving spatial resolution, …

A Constraint-Driven Generative Design Methodology for Modular Actuated Robotic Components in Decentralized Manufacturing
Abstract: This work formalizes a constraint-driven generative design framework for actuator-integrated robotic components intended for decentralized additive manufacturing. Conventional topology optimization typically prioritizes structural efficiency while treating actuator integration, modular interfaces, and fabrication constraints as secondary considerations. In contrast, the proposed methodology encodes these requirements as first-order geometric and mechanical constraints prior to automated material redistribution. The framework defines preserved actuator geometry, bounded design envelopes, representative loading abstractions, and manufacturability-aware domains …

Generative Design of Bioactive Orthopedic Composites for Fracture Repair Using an Integrated Conditional GAN–Transformer Framework: A Multi-Objective Approach
Abstract: Orthopedic composite implants for fracture repair must simultaneously satisfy conflicting mechanical and biological demands: high fracture toughness, sufficient compressive stiffness, and bioactive surface chemistry enabling osteoblast adhesion and mineralization. Existing design approaches rely on trial-and-error experimentation, yielding sub-optimal trade-offs between these objectives. This paper presents an integrated conditional Generative Adversarial Network–Transformer (cGAN-T) framework for fully computational, multi-objective generative design of hydroxyapatite (HA)-reinforced polymer composite microstructures targeting Orthopedic fracture repair. Modelling and Performance Evaluation of a Multiport Converter for Active Balancing of Lithium- ion Battery Cells
Abstract: In this paper, a flexible multiport DC-DC converter-based active cell balancing technique for Li-ion battery packs is presented. Cell balancing plays an important role in terms of safety, capacity utilization, and battery lifespan. For Li-ion cells in series configuration, the difference in voltages and states of charge (SOCs) leads to imbalance issues which might negatively affect their performance and shorten their lifespan. To solve these problems, the proposed technique utilizes …
